Mod (sp) Flanders from the Simpsons
Maude Flanders. And yes, what the hell sense did that make? I could see her dying in a Haloween episode and then coming back, but killing her off permenantly was just....dumb.

It was because the voice actor isn't working on the show anymore. Of course they could have kept her and just never had her speak again. I think they did this with some other characters.

And they've found alternate voice actors for a few.

But the one that really pisses me off, is Phil Hartman. No more Troy McClure. Damn that gun toting bitch.

On Aeris..
She had to die to use the Lifestream against Meteor at the end, because she knew Sephiroth wouldn't let her use Holy. Do you follow the plot at all?

Dogmeat from Fallout 1... stupid partially up force barriers... stupid dog that ran infront my Flamethrower when I tried to kill the stupid mutant.

Dave Bowman... before you say he didn't die he did die from his human form, and no matter the book form or the trippy movie form, it sucked

Aeris; for reasons above

DuGalle. He pussied out and shot himself in the head.

General Duke. A bastard to the end, he deserved what he got.

The Matriarchs death. Zeratul was cool, but that whole scene kinda sucked.

Lothar's death. WTF was up with THAT?

General Madine's death tops the list of crappy deaths. That whole book was just a debacle. So bad, in fact, I'm willing to just pretend it never happened. Who's with me?
Im just glad that KJA didnt kill off Pellaeon, even if the scene of him being defeated was just plain bullshit.

The deaths in any of the Dune Books
Paul, Leto I, Leto II, and all the Duncans etc. The worst was the way the Barron Harkonian dies, the fat kiddie fiddler deserved to die in a far nastier way.
Actually, I thought Leto I had a good death, sure he didnt kill the Baron with the poison gas, but he did kill Piter. And his death set the stage for Pauls revenge on the Imperium.

Has anyone mentioned Boba Fett yet?

Actually, I loved that death scene; it proved once and for all that Jedi Knights cannot be killed by pathetic little bounty hunters with their wimpy blaster pistols and armor under ordinary circumstances. ;)

I thought that it was GL's way of tweaking the cult of Fett fans. He always said he never understood why people loved the character so much. I always thought that Fett's stupid death was GL's little jibe at those fans and Jango merely another little gotcha at them. Not malicious or cruel, just for shits and giggles.

Jango had originally been filmed with a much more elaborate death scene, but I thought that that idea was enormously stupid. How could one of the best Jedi in the Galaxy have trouble dispatching Jango Fett? It didn't make any sense to me. Luckily it was cut for the final edition, but I thought that the death retained the poignancy of the originally scheduled bout.

I agree that Mace shouldn't have much problem with him, but Jango just STOOD there. I mean, he was supposedly the greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy, hence why he was used as the template for the clones. He could have dodged and Mace could have backswiped his head off.

mmm, remember that Jango had had his jet pack trampled to bits by that Rhino-thingy. But I agree, that death scene sucked.

Note I said DODGE. Just step to the fucking side! Mace was just running in a straight line. Good grief! Even *I* would have put up a better fight than that.

Maybe the Fetts have a genetic characteristic or something that makes them space out at crucial moments.. Jango did it, Boba did it, some Stormtroopers have been known to do it..

Maybe it just didn't occure to him, after all most people develope "tunnel vision" in combat ( thats why flanking manouvers work), and he had just been stomped all over by the aforementioned Rhino-thingy :D . But have a hard time envisioning a combat vet like Jango succumbing to tunnel vision.

He's a bounty hunter not a soldier. Focus like that would help in that line of work but in large scale combat it'd be a major disadvantage. Most likely he did focus on the Rhino-thingy to the exclusion of the big picture and paid the price.

Yeah, but you would think if you were going to make thousands of clone soldiers you would base it off of a soldier. Was Jango just the best they could come up with?
