I took the ASVAB, and when the recruiters called I politely informed them that I had no plans for the military. When they continued, I asked to speak to their CO.

Eh, for those of you that feel stupid because of a low score, don't...the SATs are fairly meaningless in the long run.

Here were my scores, I remember most of them pretty well, but I can't remember if my three came in Spanish or German. I only took one of those two, and I can't remember which one.

English Lit: 5
Chemistry: 5 (I thought that one was by far the easiest, even though normally I'm better at English/History. I just remember that my friend told me he made a serious error on every single one of the written problems and he still got a 4.)
Macroeconomics: 4
Microeconomics: 5
US History: 5
Calc 1: 4
Actually, I got out of Eng 101 and 102 with my Ebglish scores on the ACT...I just didn't get credit for them.

WHOO HOOO!!! I'M THE STUPIDEST ONE HERE!!! 1090 ON MY SAT I. TO ALL THE OTHER DUMBASSES ( literally): BEAT THAT!!! But seriously though, I didn't really give a damn about the SAT's. My parents were a bit disappointed, but they soon realized that I had saved them a lot of money doing so :D
They were really mellow about it, I mean REALLY, considering they're Asian and all. My SAT II's were a bit higher ( 710 physics: 680 math). I didn't have to take it, but i did anyway because i had a free weekend.

The one test I'm not looking forward to in the next 3-4 years is the MCAT... anyone had experience with that?

I politely informed him that I had no intentions of joining the armed forces and that I would prefer if the recruiters ceased calling my home. The calls stopped (I had to do it for each branch, of course, but it didn't take long).

Target practice? No we usually just take them aside into the treeline. As one corporal once said (in a VERY thick accent):
"Two go to treeline, only one come back, it not be you."

As to ASVAB its an easy test I scored a 99.

1530 on the SAT; split almost evenly between verbal and math. Those study books help a lot!

A good score will basically get you into college. Of course, now I'm in college and nobody gives a shit about the SAT or how well I did anymore. :( Oh well. At least I don't have to memorize those damn words.

So what did you get?
Didn't take the SAT or any other exam. Because I'd been enlisted for four years, and thus four years removed from high school, I was accepted (on probation) to a community college. The probation was due to my poor high school grades (I was a worthless teenager once too). Once I made straight A's, the probation was replaced with an academic scholarship. The rest is history.

Some of my friends took a free practice MCAT and said it was damned hard. OTOH, they got a free subscription to The Wall Street Journal out of it :)

I'm asking because tomorrow I'm taking the PSAT (the "p" is for "practice". Most of the questions are the same), and I want to know exactly what you got so I can compare myself off to you guys and see how inept/brilliant I am.

So what did you get?
1300 on SAT 30 on ACT. I didn't study for either so don't worry too much about them. Best advice would be to get a full night's sleep the night before and a good breakfast before you go.

1090 corresponds to the 110 - 120 range. 1390 would put you somewhere in the 140's.

Yeah, seriously guys. A lot of people at Pomona show up and tell everyone what they got on their SAT's. My dad said it was the same way at Cal Tech. Here's the thing, though, NO ONE in the colleges you go to (with very few exceptions) is going to be impressed by a lofty SAT score. You can impress your friends in HS, because chances are most of the people at your HS are fairly ordinary. Once you get to college, you meet other people who are as good as you are, or better. And you soon find out EVERYONE has them. My roomie did that, and stopped after he told his scores to about four people. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM beat his score by at least 50 points. The common response is, "That's great. So did I." So really, no one cares that you were the best in your HS. They care about how good you are at college. Sorry, but once you're in, the score doesn't get you very far.

Took it twice, 13 and 12 years ago -- didn't need to take it twice, except National Merit Scholarships needed a more recent test at the time.

First time: 1400 total (650 English, 750 Math).

Second time: 1430 (700 English, 730 Math).

Side note: did almost no prep for the 1st test. Actually took some practice tests for the 2nd one, as a friend and I were hoping to improve our scores.

PS: also got 34 out of 35 on the ACT (took it 13 years ago, before the max score went up to 36). I remember I got a 29 on the English part, and perfects on the other 3 parts...

I may actually yake the LSATs in a few years...after I get my degree, of course. I've only heard all too many times what a great lawyer I'd make...ither than that, options suggested would be bartender and wine taster...
