I'd rather an SS-25. Much less maintance than a a tracked vehicle.Sea Skimmer wrote: My ride gives new meaning to drive by shooting.

It's not my place in life to make people happy. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to watch me slaughter cows you hold sacred. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to have your basic assumptions challenged. If you want bunnies in light, talk to someone else.

Re: Car Sizes!?!?
I've seen people like that. Every third driver seems to be one nowadays. I don't see them for long because I'm usually on my way over to the hammer lane to avoid them.Kelly Antilles wrote:I couldn't agree with you more. Those things are a menace. AND their left arm is broken because they NEVER USE A FUCKING TURN SIGNAL!Dargos wrote:What the flying frick is up with America these days. Re: Car Sizes!?!?
I totally agree. Most people don't need anything more than a station wagon or a minivan. Sometimes I get the urge to wring the necks of those idiots who buy the big 4x4s when the most challenging driving condition they will ever face is the first five minutes of rain shower on urban streets ( and some of those SUVs are defeated even by that, owing to their uneven weight distribution (i.e. the wheels delivering the most thrust are the ones with the least weight over them.))Dargos wrote:What the flying frick is up with America these days. And they are not safer. They only look that way because they carry a hefty momentum advantage into any impact with a smaller vehicle. But on even terms, they are very unsafe, the typical large SUV is built on a truck chassis, which means mounting a cab atop a frame box, which is very sturdy when you hit it head-on (Due to those big beefy frame rails. Actually this is something of a bad thing actually. That means that the passengers absorb more of the energy of an impact.) And they're pretty worthless in very low speed collisions too. (They have very cheap bumpers. This means that minor collisions mean major repair costs. Though come to think of it, new cars have crap bumpers too.)

Old Corvettes are nice. Well, come to think of it, new Corvettes aren't so bad either. Old Camaros are nice. New Camaros just suck.Kelly Antilles wrote:CORvette.verilon wrote:Ugh....bugs....too small....but vettes (I assume you dont mean Chevette?) and Jags are veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery nice...I also seem to like beamers...Kelly Antilles wrote:I love cars. BMWs are nice. Good cars too.

Re: Car Sizes!?!?
Wrong. The typical SUV sold nowadays has very little stock offroad capability. About the only offroad thing about them is the ground clearance. and the typical SUV has running boards, which tends to do away with that advantage. And the larger ones are too big to go offroad. Take a new stock Explorer, Expedition, Trailblazer or Land Cruiser offroad and see what it gets you. Actually I'll tell you . . . it gets you stuck. They're heavy, and their transfer cases have been optimized for snowy/slippery roads. Most of 'em don't even have a proper locker.greenmm wrote:Hell, I've been silently screaming the same thing for years now down here.Dargos wrote:What the flying frick is up with America these days. What I find especially irritating is the owners that "baby" their SUV when they're pulling into a parking lot or going over a rough patch in the road. Hello!!! That monster is called a Sport Utility Vehicle, right? That means it was designed to go offroad, right? That means it can handle a 4" curb bump entrance to a parking lot, dumbass!!
And most cars can handle a little four inch bump. Unless you drive a lowrider, in which case you're an idiot.
