Bush won my vote for a number of reasons.

First of all I voted my pocketbook and I believed there would be better fiscal control under Bush than Gore.

Secondly, I believed that our military would be better off under Bush.

Third, I simply could not trust Gore. If he said he wanted to lower taxes, I knew he would endorse a tax increase if he won the White House.

Also, in my opinion, Clinton is "respected" around the world because he was relatively weak in negotiations with other countries, such as China and N. Korea. And the interests of the UN seemed to take precedence over the interests of the US with his administration.

While Bush is certainly not the most eloquent person, I did not have to run his speeches though the double-talk translator.
