Ahh back to the Hitler/Bush Parrel
The problem is this
You accuse Bush of Being an idiot, out of place, exctra exctra while same time saying he is Hitler(Obvious Demonzation attempt)
And you bring up examples of Legislation, then Compare Homeland Secruity and through your Logic(Or acutal the Articule writers logic) that the FBI and the CIA are through the new Bill the new SA and SS for American Glory be America Bullshit
You neatly side-step the main problem by Calling Bush Hitler you accuse him of being JUST LIKE HITLER
While bringing up evidance of LEGISLATION Simliar to that Present in Nazi Germany, I won't aurgue with the fact some of the things passed can be seriously abused it still does not get to the Basic Point that your Accusing Bush of Being Hitler and not American Turning into Nazi Germany(As the French and Germans love it call us)
Try it a liittle harder this time, How is BUSH like Hitler not how is AMERICA like Nazi Germany

Bush Sr is a member of the Carlysle group, which deals in oil and sells weapons. Through Carlysle, Bush helped supply the Taliban and other regimes with weapons. Sorry, don't want my tax dollars supporting the nazi youth for christ schools, which is where voucher $$$ would go.
Up in Michigan those same rich Republicans have voted down again and again any initiative to fund public schools and to save them. Spending on public schools in Michigan has been halved.
Then they use the "voucher program" to say, see, public schools are failing so we should take that money away from them!
Well, what is wrong with THIS tactic? Set them up to fail, then propose we fund religious schools so kids can get programmed to believe in the great white republican way.
You have absolutely NO WAY of proving private schools are "more efficient dollar for dollar" because private schools are exempt from government oversight, which would prove whether or not they are more efficient and more importantly, whether their teaching standards were up to snuff. Yours is an especially specious and groundless argument.
Secondly, and let me tell you this causes me no end of anger, private schools can deny ANYONE admission. And where I live, they have done exactly that: denying handicapped kids admission, saying they don't have to abide by governmental regulations requiring the schools to accomodate them, which is true.
So using your argument tactics, you're in favor of allowing anybody who doesn't fit the private school's criteria to languish in public schools that are falling apart, that would have substandard equipment, and probably substandard teachers because they can't earn a decent wage.
Now. You know what I'm in favor of? I'm in favor of setting public schools up to SUCCEED, not to fail. What republicans do to public schools and teachers should be criminal; lying about teacher credentials, attacking the union as anti-American, lying about the MEA here in Michigan having a "gay agenda" in public schools, refusing to fund education programs.
And never being called on the carpet for it.

Want to know why schools are failing? It's because of the fucking NEA,
who keeps insisting on more and more standards for teachers, and
to get these standards, the teachers have to go to college, which means...
expensive loans, and that means they need to be paid more to pay
off their student loans......hell, I could probably do a better job as an
elementary school teacher in history than most of the people the NEA
likes.

LOL, your ignorance (or your willful disregard of the truth) is appaling. Have you forgotten Whitewater, Travelgate, basically converting the Lincoln Bedroom into a four-star hotel for DNC donors, and the bizarre conduct of the first couple during their final days in the White House?Ultra wrote:Oh PLEASE. Almost every single accusation against Clinton was aired and pushed in the mainstream media. Very few exceptions exist IIRC, one of which was him fathering a black baby; that was left to Rush and the christian right. One thing I must note : I havn't heard of Clinton 'donating' gifts to his museum, not even on the wacko far right websites such as freerepublic.com or lucianne.com. Then again, it's probably as bogus an accusation as when you guys said he trashed the white house and AF1. Conservatives spent hundreds of millions of dollars trying to dig up dirt on him, yet found only an affair.Mr Bean wrote:The Day the Press Wakes up to the fact that the Fomer Majority Leader of the Senate Tom Dashel Changes his postion on ANYTHING Twice a week is the day we no longer have a Liberal Biased Media, Can you name the number of places where Bill Clintons 2 Billion Dollers in Unreported Gifts were mentioned? Twas not CNN, MSNBC or ABC thats for sure, I heard that Story on the Fox News Channel
(FYI Unreported Gifts means things that the President is Given but does not keep, in this case Clinton "Donated" the Gifts(Inculding stock opitions whos vaule is not calcuated in) to his "Musem" and strangly most of those items are in temproary storage at the Clinton home....)
Clinton is a liar and a perjurer. Only an idiot or a willfully blind liar would deny this. And Fox News is conservative (neoconservative, at least), but that's only one network.Fox News is conservative. Don't even bother arguing this point with me. Hannity, O Reilly, Olly North (convicted criminal), Vester, Fox and Friends, Geraldo (when he was offered the dough to join with Fox, he called Clinton a liar and a perjurer) , Cavuto, etc. They are all conservatives.
The fairness doctrine was anti-free speech, why shouldn't he kill it?Add it up :
- The media is owned by an ever decreasing number of businesses through mergers. These businesses are conservative in their very nature.
- Talk Radio is completely conservative.
- Reagan killed the fairness doctrine, which allowed the media to be bought up.
Appeals to authority; even so, WHERE do these quotes prove your point; they only concede that the liberal media is not as powerful as many conservatives have alleged. If anything, Buchanan's quotes DISPROVES your point, since he seems to be claiming that the media is fair and balanced in it's coverage of ideas.- GOP strategist William Kristol admits calling the media liberal was a tactic:
"I admit it: the liberal media were never that powerful, and the whole thing was often used as an excuse by conservatives for conservative failures."
- Pat Buchanan admits there's no liberal media:
"The truth is, I've gotten fairer, more comprehensive coverage of my ideas than I ever imagined I would receive." He further conceded: "I've gotten balanced coverage and broad coverage -- all we could have asked… For heaven sakes, we kid about the liberal media, but every Republican on earth does that."
Another appeal to authority. OK, this one proves that pundit journalism is conservative; does not prove that the media as a whole has a conservative bias, as you claim.
- Adam Myerson, editor of the conservative Heritage Foundation's Policy Review, admits a conservative bias :
"[Pundit] journalism today is very different from what it was 10 to 20 years ago. Today, op-ed pages are dominated by conservatives… We have a tremendous amount of conservative opinion, but this creates a problem for those who are interested in a career in journalism after college… If Bill Buckley were to come out of Yale today, nobody would pay much attention to him. He would not be that unusual… because there are probably hundreds of people with those ideas [and] they have already got syndicated columns."
Well, here you have provided EXCELLENT evidence that the media indeed does have a centrist bias. Concession accepted.
- New polls show the majority of journalists are centrists. And of those who are not centrists, there are more conservatives than liberals on economic issues.
The following study was conducted by David Croteau of Virginia Commonwealth University. (24) He targeted Washington bureau chiefs and Washington-based journalists who cover national politics and/or economic policy. His questionnaires went to 78 national news organizations, with an emphasis on the following 14:
1. ABC News /ABC Radio
2. Associated Press /AP Broadcast News
3. Bloomberg News
4. CNN
5. Knight-Ridder Newspapers/Tribune Information Services
6. Los Angeles Times
7. NBC News
8. New York Times
9. Reuters America, Inc.
10. Time
11. USA Today/USA Weekend
12. Wall Street Journal
13. Washington Post
14. Washington Times
The 141 journalists and bureau chiefs who responded were an excellent cross-section of the target group as a whole. When their positions on political issues were tallied up, this was the result:
Q#22. On social issues, how would you characterize your political orientation? Q#23. On economic issues, how would you characterize your political orientation?
Left 30% Left 11%
Center 57% Center 64%
Right 9% Right 19%
Other 5% Other 5%
He said that he "took the initiative in creating the Internet." A lie? No, since Gore did support pro-Internet legislation. An overexaggeration? Sure.
- 20/20 censored part of their interview with Gore. In the cut part, Gore discussed how, during the elections, the christian right harrassed his family at his own home.
- The Washington Times started the urban legend about Gore saying he invented the internet, among other lies the Times propagated. The Times is owned by a cult leader that propped up Falwel and Robertson and funds Bush. He also funded Reagan back in the day. www.unification.net is his official website.
By reporting Coulter's ridiculous comment, they would have been spreading it to more people. Maybe they figured ignoring the comment would be the best way of minimizing its effect?Al Gore said that he "took the initiative in creating the Internet."
- A late January 2002 quote from Coulter's address to CPAC (the Conservative Political Action Conference).
"When contemplating college liberals, you really regret once again that John Walker is not getting the death penalty. We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too. Otherwise, they will turn out to be outright traitors."
Her words were applauded by National Security Adviser Condoleeza Rice, Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy Thompson, and Lynne Cheney (wife of Vice President Cheney), all of whom were in attendance.
Coulter's threats to liberals were not not addressed by the media. She got away with it. A liberal would not have escaped public outrage if he/she said the equivalent towards conservatives.
There's so much evidence that suggests a conservative bias in the media its not even funny.
Your evidence is based on isolated events, you have NOT proved any trend that shows a conservative media bias (you have, however, proved a centrist bias).

Just another point, concerning Ultra's claim that the media "failed" to cover the admittedly bizarre local election in Texas that he referred to; when is the last time you remember the NATIONAL NEWS MEDIA granting a great deal of coverage to LOCAL ELECTIONS that, generally speaking, mean precisely dick to just about everyone outside of that particular locality?
