Just out of curiosity, why are they called reality shows? Last time I checked, I don't live on a desert island working my way through challenges, live in a house completely filled with cameras with several other people, or fool dozens of girls into thinking I'm a multi-millionaire. How are these shows remotely like reality?

I've only seen a couple episodes of Firefly but I like what I've seen.
