You're not missing much: I've had some truly horrendous experiences. The only thing I would do were it legal is weed. I drink a shot of alcohol occasionally and I abuse caffeine relentlessly.

Coffee and Alcohol only for me. And more coffee than alcohol, at that. I can get my hands on weed if I want, but I've never been tempted.

Drunk a little wine and beer before (very small quantities).

Don't plan on taking any illegal drugs either.

Marijuana-

Mushrooms- one of the most entertaining experiences of my life came while wandering around my old dorm building after eating a few caps. Watching Macross Plus for a little while, then climbing in a girls window and enjoying several great orgasms

LSD- The first time I tried it Ihad no idea how long it would last. I took four quality drops, put in a sugar cube. About 15 minutes after taking it everything went weird. I don't rmeember much of it but I remember coming down off it then going to school and performing for my drama class. Im never doing this again unless I have a 3 day weekend at least.

Coke- Avoid this at all costs, just gives me nosebleeds and makes me angry.

GHB- First ime I saw TPM I was on this. I had a few joints to help out since It didn't kick in right away. The movie was more entertaining that time than any other time I had seen it though.

Ecstacy - Best Sex I ever had, haven't done it since after a friend of mine was hospitalized.

heroin- Never done it but an ex g/f nearly kicked cause of this, plus i've never been big on needles unless theyre full of vaccine.

My brush with drugs is quite tiny, Beyond drinking unhealthy amounts of alchohol(Until recently - I'm quite sober now), I only occasionaly dabbled with Pot, and only once tried Acid/LSD(Though if the long term effects werent quite so icky, I would still do it , Tripping was quite fun)

I'm pretty clean these days, maybe a beer or two after work every now and again or wine with friends over dinner, and the occasional joint a few times a year. Oh, and coffee, must have coffee. In my youth, however, being the open to new experiences kind of guy I am, I had several better living through chemistry experiments.

It's funny though, as a musican, I've seen people do all sorts of drugs and drinking before they get on stage, but I always played completely sober. I always felt guilty if I wasn't at my best on stage, and being sober is part of that, at least for me.

Never tried PCP or heroin. And I think the ecstasy I tried in 1990 was bunk, didn't feel much, other than a little nervousness. Only things I'd recomend to someone who's curious would be weed or mushrooms. Neither is damaging, and anyone who claims weed is addictive should examine whether french fries or ice cream induce the same behaviour in people.

well ok Vicodin illegally once but it was hardly anything.

I don't understand it either, though I will say my best performances have been when I was either sick or hurt. I think it's a detachment thing, there's no nervousness or consciousness to get in the way of the muscle memory. Weirdest thing of that nature to happen to me was when I pinched a nerve in my elbow during a high school concert competition performance. My arm was numb for three days from that, but I managed to play mallet parts perfectly, because I was just moving, rather than trying to measure space. It was very weird, and I'd never want to try it again, but it worked. Surprised the judge too, when I talked to him about it a couple months later (he was a local college director). He'd seen me wince when I got hurt, but figured I'd just gotten a bad vibe off the cymbals or something like that.

Heh, I actually drank about a thimble's-full of wine a few months later. Same thing happened: My throat became slightly numb and started to close, with difficulty breathing.

My mother makes a chicken and rice dish that uses white wine as part of the recipie. While I can eat it perfectly fine, I cannot be in the kitchen the entire time it's being prepared, or I have trouble breathing.

No offence to anyone who enjoys an occasional drink, but I absolutely despise alcohol. It's from having two alcoholic uncles (one whose life has litterally been destroyed), and a soon to be alcoholic roommate from last year, who would sometimes return to the room at ~3 AM so wasted that he could barely get undressed and walk to his fucking bed. Twice I had to leave the room for a few hours so my rage could drop down to a level so I wouldn't do something like beat him while he was passed out.

Never took illegal drugs. Even as an idiotic teenager, it seemed to me that only morons and losers partook of them, so they had no draw for me.

Drugs are worst in the suburban schools: that's where people have the money to afford drug habits. Aside from rampant weed smoking (and the usual underage smoking and drinking,) I was assured by my friends at the time that both cocaine and LSD were making the rounds while I was in school.

Of course, that was also in the 80's.

incidently, Hipper: X has evidently gotten a *lot* more powerful since the early 90's (think "total bliss for 6 hours".) That's followed by a mild depression the next two days, which only makes sense since X works by releasing a flood of serotonin. PCP is the most uniquely hellish experience you can possibly imagine, and then some.

Tried Mary Jane about 4 times way back when I was 15. The 4th time I did it made me so messed up for some reason and I just flat out vowed right there never to do it again and since then I never have.

Other than that I have done no other illegal drugs and plan to stay that way. Alchohol is all I need to have a good time
