Also, the small "top" arrow icons in the userboxes and several of the smileys have white-background transparencies, which look crummy on dark backgrounds.
I fixed the profile data colours. The icons are a bit trickier.

Ahh, that's a lot better, thanks. A BlackSoul version would be perfect, but this is much more useable already.

Where exactly is that icon? I'm not sure if I know which icon you're referring to.

Something else I'm fairly sure worked before: when I click on a "view newest" link from an e-mail notification, I go to the top of the page, not direct to the actual newest post.

I'm assuming it's this:

The one that takes you to the first unread post.

Ah, that. Yeah, it's always been an issue with the BlackSoul icons TBH, at least in my experience. That's why I never really used it. I can't imagine why it'd be any different from the forum upgrade since AFAIK he just copied over the previous icons.

The basic theme is much better than any of the flashier ones. Thank you. It's not as information-dense as the low-bandwidth theme (which eliminated avatars and signatures), but it's a start.

Hmm... I ususally don´t look at the avatar. I just see it in the corner of my eye and know whom it belongs to. If it´s an avatar I don´t know I have to divert reading time to it anyway and it doesn´t matter if I look to the left or the right.

Even if it is better to have it on the left it seems like such a miniscule problem that it´s simply not worth worrying about.

But whatever, the Subsilver theme is back, so everybody can go back to left hand Avatars.

Agreed. I much prefer Millennium Falcon. Did anybody ever actually use the LCARS version of the board?

I liked the dark background, but right now the subsilver actually works me without causing eyestrain or producing contrast/readability issues.

This is good news. I'm hoping that the Wiki will be fixed soon but until the teething problems are fixed over here that should be a low priority.

The new formate seems to be working fine for me and the interface is similar to most other message boards out there now. It is going to take a bit go getting used to but once all together things should move rather smoothly.

Agreed. I prefer the better layout (avatars on the left, etc...) in white than I do the ass-backwards layout in black. Hopefully this one gets the darker treatment at some point though, but it's still an improvement.

The fact that Spoiler
spoiler tags
aren't working is the biggest deal for me. There are threads I don't dare enter because of the now-unprotected spoilers that litter them.

The rest of the issues I can work around, although the lack of consistency and visibility with unread post icons in BlackSoul-SDN (pale green for forums and threads vs. black arrow on dark for the first unread post button vs. the outlined red page icon on subforums vs. the nice orange page icon on individual unread posts) is a pain. Orange for new posts everywhere would be much better.

Another vote that avatars should be on the left, but that is less of an issue than the above.

OK, say hello to an old friend: a subsilver-based version of BlackSoul:

Once again, I imagine there might be some teething issues since I just made this tonight.

About that. As happy as I am to have it I must report some issues with the interface. Well not so much issues as nitpicking. But like I figured you'd want to know either way.

Image

Now admittedly those are not really major bugs just graphic glitches. And some of them are not even that, just strange so I felt I might as well report them.

This. We all know that change can be tough, but this update also streamlined the admin approval process and made it easier to view on mobile devices. It's just going to take a little getting used to.
I was actually about to post about that last one. It really IS more convenient to read a thread with the avatar and user info on the right when you're using a mobile phone. On mine it shows me the entire post with the user info off screen with little to no fiddling required. And the user name is still listed above the post on the left.
