Hiya, I'm Sander, can I poke back?
No can do. She ranks higher than you.

I don't see why it should. I can't trace my family past my grandparents, which is fine, since my paternal grandparents, who I've never met, were peasants. I'd assume the same for my maternal grandparents, and that's all I really need to know.

English. 1/8th Scottish. Surname suggests distant ancestors on my father's side were possibly either Irish or French, or quite possibly neither.
Mother's side? English and Scottish.
As far as cool family histories go, the English part of me comes from Wisconsin via Canada. That sounds dumb until you hear how they got to Canada. They originally came to the US middle colonies (NY and such), but they fled to Canada in the late 18th century because they disapproved of the traitorous Americans. Royalist dirtbags.
Oh, and I also might have a little bit of Jew in me. My dad's mom's family name is Finkle, and one of their heirlooms is this fancy engraved tray with a star-of-david motif.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

I was just curious. I wasn't sure how I'd feel in his place, so I thought I'd ask to make sure it wasn't something he was really uncomfortable with.

Honky Jewish whiteboy that digs Middle Eastern chicks... the kid will be interesting but I'm pretty "mayo-on-white".
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around! If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!! Grrr! Fight my Brute, you pansy!
Maternal Grandpappy fought in then fled the Spanish Civil War and settled in Cuba. So at least on my mom's side we go back to Spain fairly recently. On my dad's side we strongly suspect SOMEONE was French since the family name is Fontaine.
Hehe... in that case, just one reason to like the French.
