Sure it's possible. Anything's possible if you have enough money. I'm telling you that, on a teacher's salary, I don't like spending $150 on footwear that's comfortable when I can spend $40 on flip-floppy thongs that I enjoy wearing more.
$150?!?!?!?! Jeezus- my friend doesn't pay as much for her shoes- that's $300 dollars in worthless Aussie money!

$70 is mid-range for those kinds of shoes. There were some (that were positively ghastly) for around $150. Bleck.

You guys have it soooooooooooooooooooooo good, you don't even know.
Oh yes, because every girl's wardrobe should include at least 1 black pair, one dark brown, one light brown/tan pair, one white and one off-white/cream pair. To be fancy, you can add a red pair to match the bright red dress, a blue pair to match that one skirt, a green pair that matches this pantsuit......

And don't *EVEN* get me started on the price of a nice, well-fitting bra!

My shoes are size 13 1/2, and they wear out very quickly because I don't have $50 to buy designer footwear. I also live in a relatively clean suburb, so I go around barefoot much of the time in the summer, when I'm just around the block and such. The calluses on my feet could deflect bullets.

I have one pair of Airwalks (size 11), one pair of brown dress shoes (also size 11), and one pair of steel-toed work boots. There's no reason to have a more complicated footwear collection unless your job (professional baseball player, scuba diver, etc.) requires it, IMHO.

I have a pair of generic sneakers I change once ever year or so, and two pairs of dress shoes, of different sizes, so when I put them on, one feels tighter than the other.

I get jealous of those kids that can afford those things! If I want nice clothes, I head outlet shopping. Otherwise, it's t-shirts and jeans for me. It's incredibly annoying how people judge you by way you dress.

My friends who are girls accuse me of being a slob. If you know Asian college students these days, they love dressing snappy. I simply do not have the cash or inclination to spend THAT much money on my casual wear. I own a few suits and shirts for interviews and work.. but dammit, how can you be accused of dressing sloppy going to class?!!!!

As an asian student who dresses on a budget, I know how it feel. They look down on me because I wear worn jeans and a generic top along with some skateboarding shoes I found being cleared out at the local sports shop. I believe in function, if my clothes are nice and comfy and fit well while looking half decent it's good. The picture below shows how I look on a typical day. I prefer to spend my cash on other things, such as the $2500 bike you see in that picture.

On the other hand I have way better glasses than they do, I've had Polo's, Gucci's, and I'm wearing Armani glasses right now, all with the best Nikon lenses money can buy. Of course my glasses are fully covered under insurance so they're effectively free, otherwise I would not have $400-$500 glasses.

As for shoes, 4 pairs: dress shoes, school shoes, work shoes, and SPD biking shoes.

I paid (rather, my mother did) $140 for my shoes... but that's mainly because 4E-wide shoes aren't as common as other shoes. It's worth it for comfortable shoes.

I also have a pair of cheap-yet-decent looking dress shoes and a pair of sandals for when I'm just making a quick run to the store.

I continually have two pairs of sneakers: one pair old, one pair new. What I wear depends on what I'm going to do.

I despise sandals in every way, shape, and form. To date, I have not once found a pair of sandals that feel anywhere near as comfortable as a good pair of sneaks.

Sandals aren't bad. Girls look quite good in them sometimes. Some of them are sexy, some portray a sense of innocence.

What drives me mad though is that every girl wears 'em when they just aren't flattering, and if you wear them everywhere your feet will pick up a lot of crud.

For instance, WTF are those black one to a gazillion inch flip-flop types that girls are always wearing?!! Ugliest things. Sometimes they're so big it's just freaking ugly.

I at present have 3 pairs of footwear:
1 pair of school shoes, 2 1/2 years old, still got it.
1 pair of joggers, 3 years old, also still looking new.
1 pair of sandals, essential in Australia during the summer spring and autumn months, about 4 years old, they were ridiculously big when I first got them. Now rather comfy.
