What about being objective? Admins have to be objective when running the board, or they aren't doing their jobs correctly. Favoritism is one trait an admin can't have.Dalton wrote:I'm playing favoritism, yes, but not because he's "better than you", but because he's an old-time ASVSer. Then it's a good thing I've started having both a long time ago, eh?Stravo wrote:Dalton for many of these guys they'll get a custom title before they'll ever have either one.
Then comport yourself like someone who has. You made your point, but frankly as others have pointed out its just a custom title on a message board. Why get so flustered about it?Gil Hamilton wrote:Then it's a good thing I've started having both a long time ago, eh?Stravo wrote:Dalton for many of these guys they'll get a custom title before they'll ever have either one.
Why is the requirement for custom titles there in the first place then? Why should anyone have to wait? I'm the first one to call it just a silly message board, but there are two things I hate, and those are elitism and favoritism, and I give people who practice both or either of those things a hard time where ever I see it. Naturally, I'm going to go against it here, because I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't, wouldn't I?Stravo wrote:Then comport yourself like someone who has. Quite right, but at the this point it's a lost cause and like I said you made your point. To continue only threatens to make you look bitter or silly. Thats just my two cents.Gil Hamilton wrote:Why is the requirement for custom titles there in the first place then? Why should anyone have to wait? Are you accusing me of abusing my powers? I am MORE than objective when it comes to moderating and administrating this board. Giving a custom title to a personal friend does NOT threaten that objectivism since it does NOT affect my work.Gil Hamilton wrote:What about being objective? Well, you are willing to bend the rule against people getting a custom title only after they've made 2500 or so posts and you have admitted that it's out of favoritism of a select group of people over other people. I'm sorry if a non-ASVS pleb such as myself dares question the practice, but I'm an honest guy, and honesty compels me to question how a person can be completely and total objective and play favoritism at the same time?Dalton wrote:Are you accusing me of abusing my powers? I invite you to suggest how giving someone a custom title threatens objectivity in moderating them.Gil Hamilton wrote:Well, you are willing to bend the rule against people getting a custom title only after they've made 2500 or so posts and you have admitted that it's out of favoritism of a select group of people over other people.
