Hello to all.

What you need to know about me:

Yes, I'm a Star Wars fan. Not obsessively, and I do bow to more poerful scifi tech.

I'll happily debate that the sky is pink, if I can convince someone to believe. I can debate either side of an issue, and have been known to debate myself on occasion. Unless I have a nefarious plot, I will only debate what I really believe, though.

Yes, I'm a young-earth creationist. (If anything that's two orders of magnitude older than I'll ever live to be could be considered 'young'.)

I am open about my faith, and will not break out my Bible for a good bashing unless provoked.

I'm bloody hard to provoke.

I tolerate abject stupidity for no more than five minutes. Anyone violating this is just begging for a good rant.

If you're gonna judge me, do it for who I am, not what I believe.

And YES I'm a n00b. Get over it. The sooner you start treating me like a real person, the better for us all.

I have already felt the wrath of Shinova's tank. I'm a member of SB, as well. (Seeing as it was the first bb of this kind I found....)

When you consider than the universe is about 7 orders of magnitude older than that, yes, it is quite young.

Unless you cannot tolerate yourself, those two sentences are contradictory. There are few things on this Earth dumber than young-Earth creationism.

I give him a week before he leaves the board, claiming that we don't debate because we use foul language when debating.

Despite the overall inclination of this board, I think we should, at least for a start, lay off on the "debunking" of everyone who believes in something resembling religion.

Do I believe it to be fact? Well, that's a tough question. I believe it as a Matter of Faith, yes. I do not have hard, scientific evidence to back it up.

I'm not out here to yell REPENT from the highest tower, I'm here because I actually like scifi.

I only mentioned my beliefs so that you'd all know ahead of time, and because I'm the kind of person who is open about their beliefs. Cristians of the past have suffered far worse than anything you are capable of doing to me over a message board, all because they believed.

This has nothing to do with Christian-bashing. This is about stupidity-bashing. It is possible to be a Christian without being a YEC.

As for keeping the peace, perhaps you failed to notice the site motto. 'Tis more important to layeth the SmackDown on stupidity than keep the peace.

Ah, but in the case of young-Earth creationism, you have hard, scientific evidence to refute it. That's the problem.

They've also inflicted far worse, all because certain people didn't believe. And we continue to suffer under repressive laws designed to maintain some semblance of that "tradition" (eg- anti-porn laws).

Not at all. However, denial of objective reality (ie- virtually all of science in an attempt to pretend that the Earth has only existed for 6000 years) is stupidity. Do not persist with this moronic strawman.
