Is it possibleto reduce the number of pixels on an avatar?
I have a pic that I would like to use as an avatar, but it is made up off too many pixels. Is there anything I can do about this?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Download The Gimp (do a Google search). It's freeware, and it has all the image editing toys you need and then some.

I don't think MS Paint is that flexible. You can always simply use the rectangle tool and simple cut out the 80 x 80 pixel size, but that might not be what you want because it might cut off the picture. I suggest the trial version of Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop pro and use their Imaging resizing tools.Superman wrote:Is there anything I can do with crappy old paint?

Why get a trial version of $ware when you can use freeware, like The Gimp?Pink Eye wrote:I don't think MS Paint is that flexible. I just hunt for stuff on Kazaa. I never heard of The Gimp so, I plead my case as one of ignorance.Darth Wong wrote:Why get a trial version of $ware when you can use freeware, like The Gimp?Pink Eye wrote:I don't think MS Paint is that flexible. And yes, Da Pink Eye is rather revolting, but that is what makes it great!

Yes, paint can do it, but it can only save in BMP or some other rarely used format. It must be in JPG or GIF format to be used as an avatar. Tell you what...pm me a link to the image and I'll resize it for you.

Paint can save as a JPEG, and in XP can actually do it fairly well.

This question is answered in full--including software recommendations--in the board FAQ in the announcements fourm. RTFM.
