Friends! Comrades! Rare is it that I call upon the logic and power represented in SD.net and this fine BBS, but at long last I have a request of you all!

On Wednesday, January 22nd, a contest will be ending. This is a contest your own Mr Bean has entered. The price of this contest? Why, nothing less than a coveted (For me anyway) place amoung the Beta Testers of the MMORPG SHADOWBANE. This is a game I have long been following with interest; only recently has it moved publically into the community.

Now the gist of it is, there is a contest to design a serious or joking cover for the online mag Game-Rifts. I have entered this contest and placed my name amoung the contenders. The top ten get thier places in Shadow-Bane's Beta and the Top three get T-Shirts along with that.

There is a problem, however...
Neither artistic ability nor comidic writing alone shall get me into the Top Ten for the process by which the winners are selected.

Is it democratic?
Yes, friends, the guilds of SB have already "picked" themsleves a winner and are voting those people in. Each guild has enough for 50-70 free votes and it's highly unlikley 100 Random Strangers will wander by and vote some freelancer (such as myself) into the top twenty, let alone the top ten.

NOW THEN
This is where you come in folks! I must contract this ballot stuffing (as the Top Ten are determined by vote alone while the ranking within is determined by artistic ability). I must get into that ten and I need YOUR help to do it!

Yes, one week from now I shall give you a link which you shall copy and paste into your browser window, and there you shall go and vote and STRIKE A BLOW FOR FREEDOM!

I am already begining my campain efforts outside of this board, including running an ad-campaign that suggests those that vote aginst me make this Puppy

sadder and sadder for every vote cast aginst me.

I'll go to look at them all and vote for whoever's design I think looks best. If none of them are outstandingly superior to yours, though, I will definitely vote for you, Bean (since you are a nice guy and all that). And I doubt strongly there would be a vastly superior design.

I'll vote for you. Mostly because of that puppy.

{Ponders an moment} I'll support ya Bean, but not for the puppy, or even the Cookie, (Although I still want my Cookie damn it, just cos the Cookie isn't the reason dosn't mean I want to miss out on the Cookie.) But because.
A) The fact that these guilds have decided one among their number annoy's the hell out of me. it's unfair to other's, as it means someone new, even with a fantastic design obviously won't win. It discourages others from taking part in similar competition's.
B.) The real kicker, I have this feeling you'd be a good Beta Tester. (thats a Playtester right? just checking I'm not off on a complete tangent.) And spot many times many bugs on this game, something that benefits everyone who might decide to play it. And I have a feeling anyway you'd have entered a design worthy of winning so you have my vote.

So when the Cookies are sent out make sure to remember me.

That puppy was added after i cast my vote.

I'm not changing my mind, of course, because this is the kind of thing I get paid for by a certain record label, so i might as well do it for my friends.
