Are you smoking?

If yes, tell me how much a day and why?

(Just normal cigarettes interested...)

Not me. I tried it one time, and it just wasn't interesting.

That's a new one. How, exactly, is smoking supposed to be interesting?

And I smoke, although at two packs a month there's some debate if I actually qualify as a 'smoker'.

There's probably a gummy-lunged bloody cancerous death in my future. Now, wasn't it nice of me to put it that way? Better than "Yeah, I smoke" and more poetic, as well! :D

(edit) Oh, I smoke ten to fifteen a day.

I dunno, I don't do things that don't interest me. So that's why I don't smoke. Why, pray tell, do you smoke, if it doesn't interest you?

EDIT: I just realized that it's kind of funny that I don't smoke but my avatar does, while Batman smokes, even though the real Batman doesn't.

Good to hear that!

I'm a big smoker also! I usually smoke cigarettes that contains 1 mg of tar, since I consume nearly 40/day...

Since you're smoking as well, tell me how other non-smoker treat you?

Yep, I smoke. I'd say I'm in the same boat as Frank for how much I smoke a day on average, though it depends on what I'm doing. Like, if I'm out at the bar, I become a smoke mechine for some unknown reason. Or, if I'm just sitting at home, it's less because I have to go outside, and it's fuckin' cold.
As to why, I don't know, I guess I was just born stupid.

The "bar effect" works with me also!!!

Smoke. Maybe a pack a week. Out of curiosity why would you make a thread about this... More importantly why would I ask?

I guess to me 'interesting' means more like intelectually challenging, wanting me to find out more about it, making one think about s.th.,
that kind of thing. not just something I like to do.

I smoke because I like the taste, and it helps me to relax.

Hell no. I've seen firsthand what smoking does to someone and I have no desire to die that way. My dad's heart attack was a result, at least partially, from his chain smoking and I have no desire to pay for the privilege of killing myself slowly.

I never smoke.
I tried it just once a few years ago, but it tasted horrible and I couldn't stand the smoke.

My Dad and Mum smoke about 40 a day each. Seeing what has happened to their health i wouldn't smoke cigaretts. I did try one once and my throat swelled up and i ended up in hospital, i am allergic to tobacco. If i smoke wacky backy i need to smoke it pure through a pipe.

Yes, tragedies may happen but don't blame everything on cigarettes.

If you're living in a metropolis just go out to the streets and you have a very good chance for cancer.

My father is smoking for more than 40 years and he never had any problem.

..and I hope he will live for at least another 62 years!!!

On the other hand if you managed to not smoke yet, never try it!

Yes, ciggarettes aren't only health hazard but why add one? And make no mistake about it, cigarrettes are damn dangerous. The statistics bare that out.

And Boba, my dad smoked for 40 years and dropped dead in our living room. Simply because it doesn't always kill you doesn't mean it does hurt you all the time and kill plenty of the time.

When I was a wee one, a drunk grandmother tried to make me smoke the cigarrette she was puffing, and when I was in fourth grade, a fifth-grade girl (who had been held back a couple of years) forced a lit cigarrette into my mouth. Apparently, she had a crush on me and thought I should learn to enjoy the finer things in life. Coincidentally, I've never smoked anything besides the occassional cigar.

I only smoke when I'm really, really drunk. Usually I have problems lighting the thing, I drop it a couple of times, and then I fail to put it in my mouth properly. Eventually I just give up and go pass out. Good times.

I smoked for quite awhile, but stopped two years ago. I was starting to feel like an ashtry all the time and was conserned about my health so I quit. But I am not a Nazi about it, if you want to smoke.....go ahead. If you don't want to smoke.....don't. Neither side needs to whine about it especially the non smokers.

In university, my friends dubbed me the 'cig bastard' due to my often vibrant personal protests against their smoking habits. Thank diety Ottawa is now a non-smoking city, but I've plucked more than one cigarette out of the mouth of a diner sitting arrogantly in the non-smoking section and smushed it out in their meal. I react to smoking the way Mike Wong would react to his kids' school having mandatory YEC propeganda classes.

You can't criticize someone based on race, colour, religion, or sexual orientation. But you can still roll down your car window in the middle of January and laugh like Neslon Muntz at the smokers lined up in the snow banks outside the government buildings.

I did for a while but cut it out. No reason either time, I just felt like it.

Tried it once, got sick, never touched the damn things again. I don't mind if you smoke, just as long as I don't have to kiss you. :D

Cigarette smoking doesn't hurt anyone ... except for you and anyone unfortunate enough to breathe your fumes. People who object that I drive a car and pollute the environment should take note that I don't fucking back it up to a donut shop and pipe the exhaust into the fucking door.

I have no problem with smokers as long as they do it outside, where they can't hurt anyone but themselves. But when I see a single mother white-trash redneck blowing smoke into her baby's face, I feel like punching her lights out.
