Yep, the key words for getting a Darwin Award are "stupid" and "accidental". If every suicide was awardable, they'd have a lot more work on their hands.

A DRUNK was rescued after climbing into a zoo cage and begging three brown bears to eat him in Berlin.

I remember that one but they got it wrong. The guy climbed into the ice-bear cage and he just wanted to play with the bear. But it was tired and quickly lost interest in his new toy so he survived, heavily injured of course.
