Linux on a PDA is just plain wrong...

It royally sucks...

Well yeah probably a bitch to work with linux on the limited mem. After all standard kernel size is >600kB so you will have to strip down a lot of things. Glibc takes up >2MB, so you have to use newlib/ulibc and port the incompatiable parts. How much does embedded memory take up these days anyways? Of course since this is a PDA you do not have to include source files, and usually the manufacturer of the PDA does things for you. You may also be able to run recompiled standard linux apps on the PDA, although you need a linux box to do so I think. How big is QT embedded anyways? What else is wrong with linux on PDA?

Nevermind this thing has 64megs of RAM + CF/Microdrive. Space isn't that much for an issue. Palms only have 16 depending on model. A better comparison would be the PocketPC abomination. However this thing costs 500$.

Ever tried to work with a shell on a PDA?
The whatever-linux version running on that thing is trash. The virtual keypad is so small, you can't type shit.

This version is GUI, though you can download a shell. Oh and it has a built in thumbpad.

For some reason the file manager is not installed by default
. Is this true for other PDAs? I've never got to use one. Oh and it does Java too.

Of course installing linux on a PDA that isn't customized for it is just dumb.
What exactly is the point of running linux on Xbox, IPaq, etc?
EDIT: For the sake of irony
