The past couple movies have illicited some positive response and Cowboy Bebop does benefit from popularity from the show.

Should at least make a decent showing...though probably will be regulated to only art house theaters.

Well, I have the movie on the comp, but it's subtitled. The movie sorta sucks, even though I love Cowboy Bebop. If it manages to make it this way though, I will be watching it.

Ok, first: Due to Cowboy Bebop's popularity on CN, that is why it will be released here. It will be both sub and dub. I think they're doing demographics to see where they need to put which one. I'll take either, but prefer the sub. (I love Megumi Hayashibara!) Plus the fact that there is a HUGE anime convention here every year, I think we'll get the sub.

Second: It has been stated many times that Knockin' on Heaven's Door (aka CB:TM) is a glorified episode. You could equate it with Jupiter Jazz or Real Folk Blues. It is set between Sessions 23 and 24.

Third: I have heard from some very reliable sources, including some here (I think it was Dalton who has seen it), it is very good. Of course, these people ARE Cowboy Bebop fans.

Fourth: I don't care what anyone says, I'm going to see it even if means driving HOURS to get to a theater showing it!

It is basically a two hour long epsiode. It's one that would work on the big screen. The climactic scene though is made for the big screen, you'll know it when you see it.

The only thing is, it lacks the profound impact on the story that Jupiter Jazz or the Real Folk Blues had.

I've seen it as well. It's an awesome addition to Cowboy Bebop. That I'm a major fan actually worked against it because it had to be very good not to seem like a blatantly unecassary retroactive insertion.

I LOVED it, I can't actually listen to the dubbed version on CNX even if it is quite good, it isn't the same (I like how Kaji of NGE and Spike are played practically the same way by that one voice actor).

I hope the film does quite well because I would LOVE to see it on the bigscreen in the UK.

It is generally a very touching film considering we all know what the outcome ultimately is at the end of the series. But it does draw parallels between Spike and Vincent who are two very alike, yet also different people.

The subtitle of "Knocking on Heaven's Door" is also quite apt, I only wish it had the Bob Dylan song in there somewhere too.

I've been suprised by the break out popularity of Cowboy Beebop; friends of mine that I completely don't consider anime fans own the entire series... The movie will probably do very respectably for an anime, and it might even do very well. I saw it at my campus anime club about a year and a half ago and it was a good time. It does have some things working against it though, as Stormbringer brought up.

I actually saw the Bebop movie before I saw the TV series. It's pretty good, and even if you don't know much about Bebop, it can hold it's own as a standalone movie.

It IS basically a glorified episode though.

Well yeah, but you couldn't really do anything else about that unless you really screwed the timeline up.

There are some out there that refuse to admit the ending of Bebop is true and that the film is actually set after the series.

Which is why I try to hold back my frustration at seeing many fanboys but mainly fangirls, ressurect Spike and say "Oh, it was just a scratch. What's that you say? Berman and Braga want to talk to us? Cool."

*ROTFL* Oh, that is great! I have to admit that I've had that feeling before, just so I can write more fanfic, but there's plenty of time between each session to write in. Some of those are well done, after all, Spike did survive that tremendous fall in Ballad of Fallen Angels. And he survived when Spike tried to kill him the first time.
