I miss the days...

I miss the days when Luser099, John Clark, and SithGod and all those idiots were around. They made the board a lot of fun, mostly becasue of how stupid they were. We really need to find some more idiot trekkies and bring them here for a good ol'fashioned Imperial Smackdown(TM)

I have to admit it's been a little boring here lately.

Somebody invite Grahamn Kennedy. Tell his we like his "portal" story but wonder why it took the Federation so long to whip the Empire.

Isn't it a bit early to start getting nostalgic on how things were better in "The Good Old Days"? The forums only existed for a couple of months, after all. :D

Maybe there should be a rota system, so that every forum member must serve five days a year as an Designated Enemy of the World . The Designated Enemy would be happy, because it'd give him/her a chance to purge any negative feelings or emotions though spuriously being a jackass; and the forum's regs and lurkers alike would be happy, because it would mean an endless supply of Asshats, Fucktards and other assorted mooks to mercilessly chainsaw apart/enjoy watching the regs chainsaw apart.
Look at it this way; GTA III makes committing crimes against society fun - why couldn't pretending to be a troll be just as enjoyable? Newbs and the unambitious can simply pretend to be a overly-fanatical Trekkie, utilising such deadly gambits as the "ST isn't about fighting, it's about the human condition, yet has weapons many more times powerful than the DSII" strategy, the "Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise is canon" argument, and the never-ending and always hilarious TurboLaser Vs. Navigational Shield hokum. Old Hands and the quietly confident can somehow try to turn the board against them while being a Star Wars fan. Either way, it's your One Man/Woman Battle Against Authority/The Regs/The Mods/Mr. Wong/Your Fucked-Up Parents and Siblings! (Insert deity or expletive of choice here) help you, Soldier!

Can't remember. That was only a couple months after I even joined ASVS, when the only denizens I understood were Chuck, Dalton, and Elim.

Anyway:

From the ASVS Vault
By Marina O'Leary

Well, I felt it appropriate in this case.. To begin my stay here with
something of interest. It's a space combat scenario, to be precise. The
Eclipse class Command Ship Indefetigable, under the command of a clone
of Grand Admiral Thrawn, with full flash-printing of his memories, of
course, has had it's primary and backup hyperdrives disabled by a
Federation saboteur, though otherwise it's fully operational. A
replacement Hyperdrive and escort vessels are expected to arrive in
nine hours. However, the disabling of the Indefetigable's hyperdrives
was part of a well prepared trap. A massive Federation fleet is baring
down upon the Indefetigable, intent on crushing the massive flagship of
the Empire's invasion force, and killing their commander and brilliant
strategist, in one swift stroke. The Federation fleet includes 5
Sovereign class Starships, four Prometheus class starships, Thirty
Galaxy class starships, forty Nebulas, ten Ambassadors, one hundred
Excelsiors, one hundred Mirandas, fifty Akiras, thirty New Orleans,
twenty Centaurs, 50 Steamrunners, 30 Norways, 30 Defiants, and 200
Peregrines. However, The Indefetigable isn't out there by it's self. In
it's holds, and fully combat capable, are 600 TIE Defenders, 96 Missile
boats, 72 armed shuttles, and 72 armed boarding transports.
Still, it isn't just numbers. The combat is taking place inside an odd
star system, consisting of three massive Blue-white supergiants, and
two Green large stars, all co-orbiting in a very complex system, doused
with radiation. Though no planets are capable of being formed, the
system is strewn with millions.. possibly billions.. of asteroids and
small planetoids, which combine to make sensor readings much less than
spectacular. So.. Will the Federation fleet be able to destroy the
Indefetigable before the escort and ships containing it's new
Hyperdrives arrive to drive them off, or will the Federation survivors
be fleeing an intact Indefetigable and a squadron of ISDs?

Cue Elim to come in and lose his fucking mind...

Hey! I've had a bad week.

Last thursday, my dog got hit my a car after runnong out onto a main road during peak hour. Fortunately, he's fine.

Sunday I got concussed in soccer. Had headaches and sore eyes for the next three days.

Tuesday I'm just about to get dressed and I hear a knock on the door. Go to answer it in my dressing gown. THere's the next-door neighbour who says "WE found your cat lying down on our driveway, not moving." I go out to have a look, no shoes, in my dressing gown, hair wet from my shower on a cold winter's morning, and there's the cat, dead.

And you laugh at my delicate condition!

Pifff Typical David..

Of course I've never had the problem with dead animals due to the first few years of my life and a Dog that made supermans ability to come back look weak in comprasion

This dang dog(Named Max, Golden Retrevior Sheep-Dog mix) has been hit not one, not two, nay not even five times by cars, BUT SEVENTEEN TIMES
Four of which in the same week!
Now I don't classify car stoping at the Stop sign and dog not and thus rear-ending the car resulting in it winning no these are frontal or side crashs sufficent to move the dog further than one foot(IE front impacts)
The odds of him surving one where pretty low, the odds of suriving that many over a six year period I don't even wanna know
(He also went through two bouts of Cancer
This leading to a few problems in social interaction

EXAMPLE: Happend three weeks ago(Roughly)
Friend: Well my dog got hit by a car
Me: (unconcered) Yeah that happns alot now-adays so where is the little scamp?
Friend: He DIED
Me:(Stunned Silence)
Now people dieing? I know that, When I was born I had four aunts and three Uncles, When I was fifteen I had three aunts and one Uncle(And one grandparent) But Pets?
Well there you go Mr Bean admiting his weakness of never learning how to deal with pet death thanks to his still alive and kicking Super Dog(Now with my Parents) whos apporching eleven years of age and the Aparment he resides in now prevents him from chasing any more cars

I did. I lied and told him that I really liked Portal, but there were some people here who did not. I don't think he's showed up, though, unless his secret identity is DarkStar.

There's this new guy, too, who said that the firepower of SW ships was "a tad bit" exaggerated. He was funny as hell!
