Some Bad Shit Happened last night....

We found our ferret, Christina, lying on the floor, not moving, and she
wouldn't eat or drink anything, and when we got her to take sugar water,
she promptly threw up.
After rushing to the local animal hospital, we got XRays taken, showing
that she had swallowed something that had gotten lodged in her
throat, keeping her from swallowing/eating, and she's now extremely
dehydrated.
They put an IV into her to stabilize her for the surgery that'll take place
sometime today.....this is the 2nd time the same thing has happened....

I hope she gets better Shep. It's also a bummer to hear that pets are sick. I'm sure she'll be fine soon though, you've got her to the vet and stabilized that's the important thing.

I can't have pets like that, because if I do, then my cat will get them.

She got thru the surgery allright, and here's the pic of her

Ahhhh, it's so cute. Good to hear it made it through the surgery.
On another note, a ferret that someone didn't want and threw out of a car near my mom's art studio is currently terrorizing my chickens. We're thinking the solution is either a trap or buckshot.

Yeah they won't let us have any animals unless they are caged, or aquirieumed....
Really funny when they escape the dorm rooms after escaping the cages....

Are you living in the park proper? Is that why you cant have a pet? Or is it just a company rule?
For those of you outside of California, ferrets are illegal here. Ive never understood why.

For those of you outside of California, ferrets are illegal here. Ive never understood why.
Park Proper, thus NPS rules sometimes superseed state laws.
Which is why Ferrets are LEAGAL inside the park, but aren't outside the boundries of the park.
Also since we are on Federal Land the Age of Consent is 17 inside the park.
Fireworks are illeagal, other funny things are going on. Oh yeah and the Miwok/Piutes are sueing the NPS for possession of 2/3 of Yosemite Valley....

She swallowed a piece of carpet padding that got stuck in her throat...I might
