Last year, state-wide, there were something like 24 toddler drownings in AZ. These happen in swimming pools, and are generally attributed to a kid wandering off and falling in.
We just had our first drowning of the year today.
I've lived all over the country, and swimming pools seem to be common everywhere I've lived, be it in the south, mid-west, or here in the west. But I do not recall kids being rushed to the hospital on a quasi-weekly basis the way it happens here. What the hell's going on.

I don't know, maybe because weather is favorable to swimming for so much of the year in Arizona? When usage is higher, there will be more drownings, I would think.Frank Hipper wrote:Last year, state-wide, there were something like 24 toddler drownings in AZ. I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

I dunno whats wrong in AZ but every region has something. Here we have had people forgetting their babies in the car in 80-90 degree weather and they die. What a fucking horrible way to die for an infant. It has happened like 5-6 times in the last 4 years or so.

People do that here, as well. Only it's like 110-115 farenheit. The mayor of Fountain Hills, AZ, was charged with that this past summer. There were extenuating circumstances, though. He was gone for a minute or less, and the filthy media whore Sheriff of Maricopa county wanted high profile game to mount. Do a search on Sheriff Joe Arpaio and you'll see what I mean.TrailerParkJawa wrote:I dunno whats wrong in AZ but every region has something. That names rings a bell, I'll go look him up. I cant imagine a child going through such suffering in the heat.Do a search on Sheriff Joe Arpaio and you'll see what I mean.
Im a bit surprised the trial lawyers have not eliminated pools altogether. I know here its expensive to own a pool cause if the neighboors kids sneaks in and drowns a jury is gonna convict you.

You may well hit the nail on the hammer there, lawsuits and charges are NEVER mentioned, IIRC. Actually I believe that particular tide may be turning, a grandmother is facing charges at the moment, I believe.TrailerParkJawa wrote:That names rings a bell, I'll go look him up.
