I saw someone sell a tumbleweed once. Can't remember the price.
What's really bad is when it is made to look like something else at first but is stated EXPLICITLY to not be that thing, and still people fall for it.
For instance:
Microsoft Xbox box
first bid: $.25
Winning bid: $315
Total bids: 27
Started: Nov-17-01
Ended: Dec-02-01
This is a brand new Microsoft Xbox box, game console is sold separately. This is a brand new Microsoft Xbox box, it does not contain the system, this is just a box. This is the original box that the systems shipped in. This box actually contained an xbox. Shipping is to USA only. $6.00 for shipping. Payments accepted are paypal and money orders. email me with any questions.

Heh, back when the PS2 was just released in the US (remember that back then it was still VERY rare), my high school's anime club held a
Tekken Tag Tournament er-tournament.
The prize was the box to the PS2 that was used.

I remember that. Didn't the guy who organized it win it anyways?

Close, it was the guy who owned the PS2.

Coooompletely of topic but stupidity related.
Early 80's, whatching Wheel of Fortune against my will.
The puzzle is almost solved, and is obviously "It takes one to know one"
Exciteable, gibbering, overweight baffoon sez, "I'd like to solve the puzzle, Pat. '
E.T. takes one to know one!' " My mom and I laughed and laughed, and still laugh circa 20 years later. It's a family catchphrase, anytime we see someone too stupid to reproduce, we say "E.T. takes one to know one!"

Uh, it looks like a fantasy sword from that techno/futuristic line a little while back. The description looks like a cut and paste from the add for that sword in catalogs and stuff.
It was never meant to be serious, though if that guy thought it was, what a fucking moron.

That would be cool as hell if it's just a regular sword. In fact, it'd be an interesting design for a sabre in the movies.

Actually, I myself was thinking that the handle of hte hilt would make a pretty awesome lightsaber hilt. It's a kewl looking katana. But it was the bs that made it ridiculous.

First of all;
All those examples are too funny!
Second of all; should this be in the PSW forum?

Duranium?? Isn't that a Star Trek element?
(as a side note, I have a suspicion that Duranium just is slang for "Depleted Uranium")

its not a very well made sword....also, if you want weapons....look carefully in ANH at Obi-Wans hut....he has Kama and a few other nice toys in the background, including a sword....training saber?

I recognize the hilt in that image. It's one of the 'Katana 2000' or 'Ninja 2000' series katanas from
www.swordsonline.com
It's a real sword, actually, sharpened and all. But it doesn't have so much as a light bulb in it. It's basically a scam.
'Real' lightsabres are usually EL blades that affix to a piece of PVC piping, and while you can duel with them, they're hardly impressive tech.
www.parksabers.com if you want to see the best in 'hobby sabres'.
