Judges dismisses McDonalds lawsuit
“If a person knows or should know that eating copious orders of supersized McDonald’s products is unhealthy and may result in weight gain ... it is not the place of the law to protect them from their own excesses,” the judge said. “Nobody is forced to eat at McDonald’s.”

Probably. If Mickey D's is anything like Wawa (where I work) whenver someone calls up the Corporate Headquaters to complain about something, they send them out vouchers for free products (without even bothering to see if it's an accurate story, etc)

Finally, justice is served. Would anybody like fries with that?

Now, all we need to do is hope other judges strike down such absurd lawsuits.

It would have been cooler if he had said: "it is not the place of the law to protect them from their own stupdity." :D

Don't celebrate yet. There are still appeals.

It's still entirely possible. But even if it's been tossed out now it's a good thing.

My legal studies some of the publically-released legal documents related to this case a few months ago. It was by the lawyer filing the suit for the fat fucks, and it was some of the most shoddily put together and poorly arranged legal documentation I've ever seen.
