One thing I found interesting during Desert Sheild is that all of the charts/maps the US Navy has refer to the Gulf as the Arabian Gulf. I was told we were calling it that because we were friends with Saudi Arabia and were no longer friends with Iran (historical Persia).

There's spin of some sort to everything it seems.
