a little annoyed...

Post by pezcollectorguy »

I want to know what you guys think about all of this...

About a week ago a friend and I were discussing the "real" reasons why France doesn't want to engage Iraq in a war. (Iraq owes France Billions of dollars worth of wepons purchased during the Iran conflict.) Anyway, this same friend brought up another point in an email that I thought annoyed me enough to share with you. It takes a lot to annoy me but France is really getting on my nerves... If you are also annoyed, send this message to your friends or hate mail to the French parliment as I sometimes do. Allies, asset or liability? You decide...

Dave

**The message that was sent to me by a friend...

In the last week, France has not only continue to obstruct the upcoming
war with Iraq, but now, they've invited Robert Mugabe, the murderous
dictator in control of Zimbabwe who has single-handedly managed to ruin
that country's agricultural system and cause nation-wide starvation, to
a meeting of African Heads of State in Paris in late February. This,
despite a European Union sanction against Mugabe entering Europe!

You're right, Dave. We should bomb France. Starting with dropping on
Paris a copy of the Russian "Tsar Bomba" (60 megaton nuclear explosive;
about, oh, 4,000 times the blast power of the Hiroshima nuke).

So your friend was originaly against war with Iraq? Am I reading it right, now because of this new development he is against France?
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

I believe my friend and I are mutually opposed to semantics dictating whether a nation should go to war. This was is right because Iraq funded the terrorists that bombed my country and Iraq has weapons capable of attacking Israel. If Iraq does attack Israel under treaty we will be involved anyway. This is a war to prevent an inevitable one, which may be bigger, I believe.

Honestly, it doesn't surprise me about the French. I mean, who really would expect them to? Even if they did, they would back out of it in a couple weeks anyways.

Now Germany, on the other hand, that is surprising.

Sometimes I wish we could institute an ASVS type Final Solution on France and just ignore that country from now on and respond to a thing it says. They would sulk like the little bitches they are and hopefully whither away so we don't have to be subjected to their arrogant fromage eating assholes.

Germany

Post by pezcollectorguy »

At heart I think Germany is with us and it horrifies them to be in an agreeable position with France. However, Germany also has Billions of owed weaponry invested in Iraq and lets face, they want their money back. If we bomb Iraq back into the stone age they Germany won't get paid... Canada is wishy washey about the whole issue because largly they have been taken for granted by Great Britain in the past. Canada has played a HUGE role in both world wars and occasional skermishes since than. They do deserve more recognition. The Brits, of course, are ready to go... Gotta love 'em.
