I'm fucking sick of his shit, as are the others in the thread.

I think we should show him mercy if his next post in that thread is:"CONCESSION GRANTED."

If not, VI him.

I really think giving out VIs for every person that produces a minor scuffle is a bit stupid. Village Idiot implies someone so dense that all they do is troll and if anyone can tell me honestly Straha trolls 100% of the time then feel free to give that title.

Personally I think it's a mountain out of a molehill if you can get that pissed off over ONE argument about a fictional vehicle. Just cool off a bit, you'll be okay and I'm sure he feels a bit stupid for making those comments.

Straha actually seems to be arguing against mechboy fanwankism, while the others are to varying degrees arguing in favor of mecha despite their previous consistent flaming of mecha fans. I have to take Straha's side here and stand against hypocrisy.

edit: note: I did only read the first page because such "I'm right!" "No, I'm right!" arguments bore me quickly when nobody really brings up good points.

Acutally, this is exactly the kind of behavior for which the VI title was created for.

On one point in one instance and on a subject arguing the mechanics of a vehicle that 99% of people here find laughable. Don't think just because it is SW it is somehow above the laws of absurdity.

Besides, the argument looked tiresome and I have not seen Straha become anti-social and nonsensical before so I'm willing to take this as a one-off unless of course you really insist on going through with the title (I doubt the title really bothers those that know they aren't trolls anyway).

[2] Your taking a very simple minded view of this whole thing if you think its hypocrisy, and clearly don't even know the position of those of us against mecha and in the HAB.

I do not think that thread in itself is worthy of a VI title.

If he wants to argue against the concept of a mecha in general, fine, I do that all the time. He has however chosen to attack very specific feature of the AT-AT and Imperial tactics, he got called on them. His response has been to repeat the same shit over and over again. His demand as to why TIE couldn't take out the shield generator got answered at least ten times, and he kept repeating the same thing.

Acting exactly like Fuckstar annoys me greatly. And this is not an out of the blue thing; his wall of ignorance behavior was pointed out many times by many people.

Honestly, it just looks like any other contentious thread I've been in. Straha's being obstinate, but not IMHO trollish.

Let him be for now; a rather severe warning should do.

So what's the general concensus for those who have read the thread but not debated it?

To be frank, I'd let it go for now, the VI title is something reserved for true trolls on the level of DorkStar and TOWNMNBS.

But let the people decide.

Eh...he's being stubborn. Some of his points are decent, others are just stupid. He's not really at the level of VI, though. I think he's just taken the anti-mecha view one step too far. The AT-AT's not as bad as he claims, but a conventional armored vehicle could most likely accomplish its job easier and be better protected at the same time.

If he would just concede the point we've defeated a dozen times each I'd be satisfied, thus option 2 on the poll. But if he's just going to run away from the thread or worse attempt to keep it going with the same shit, its very much is VI worthy.

From what I read, he doesn't deserve a VI title. As Dark said, "Straha actually seems to be arguing against mechboy fanwankism." A one time thing, IMO, does not justify a VI title.

He conceded, so he's OK in my book. SPARE THIS ONE AN ADMINS WRATH!
