When Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas and Gandalf ride up to Edoras, and the wind whips the banner off the pole, there's a brief acoustic bit('da da da da daaa').
What track is that from?

Offhand, I'd say Track 6, "The King of the Golden Hall".

It's repeated several times in diffferent tracks but King of the Golden Hall would cover that particular scene.

Just wondering... How good is the soundtrack? I was thinking about getting it for one of my friend...

I would say that the TT soundtrack is pretty good.
Forth Eorlingas(16) and Isengard unleashed(17) are worth the price of the CD themselves.

PERSONALLY, I don't like it quite as much as I liked the FoTR soundtrack, probably because the music doesn't have the same newness. However, I don't want to not give it praise, because it introduces a lot of great new themes (the Rohan theme, in particular, is truly awesome). In my opinion, the music works best when accompanied with the movie; it doesn't work as well for mere listening, like the FoTR soundtrack did. But it's a worthy buy, to be sure, if you liked the FoTR soundtrack.

Personally i'm pissed off that the cool music from the trailer wasn't on the soundtrack. (The trailer i'm talking about ends with Aragorn pushing open the doors. It has some of everything but very little of the ents (treebeard scooping up merry/pippin))

That music was a remix of the theme from
Reqiuem for a Dream.

Yes. It was a druggie movie by the same dude that did Pi. Very cool; you could probably find an MP3 somewhere.

Sountrack. I got the FOTR one in some sort of red faux-leather case or something.
