Indeed. This is supposed to be a happy occassion. Let's not bicker and argue about who killed who, hmm?

Since you've set a date, have you given any thought to how you're going to do it?

Awww, *snif* thanks you guys.

We've been gg out since last summer. I went drinking, met her, then went back to MI for senior year. Sent her a Xmas card and we started talking, then she flew out and rented a Blazer to move me back here last May. I moved in, we started talking marriage, and when she bought the new car it was partly with children in mind. We just started planning it and making reservations, and announcements are gg out now.

I just re-read mypost and it sounds like I met Amy in a bar. I mean, I went drinking with my friend Shannon and her best friend Amy. So Amy, unlike my previous gf's (don't even ask abt Kris), came from my circle of friends and so we're one big happily family. Of friends. Or something.

You mean, what's the ceremony gg to be like? It'll be in a rose garden, we'll use a CD changer instead of a band or DJ at the reception hall, we'll wear "casual dress" clothes, and there're about 150 people invited. My best man is a guy named John, who's husband of Shannon, the maid of honor.

That's great; it sounds like you two are in it for the long haul then.

Here's my wedding planning advice:

Your cake was only $400? Shit, we're looking at $1500 ones. Hmm. Funny stuff.

I guess I go with Steve Martin on the cake thing. "A cake, Franck, is made of flour and water."

I was JK. We haven't looked at any cakes yet. We're both really busy, but so are the cakemakers, so we'd better get on it. We're already having a hard time finding a photographer.

It's the cakes in bridal magazines that are thousands of dollars. But I don't think we'll be sending away to NYC for our cake...

We actually got by for $150 on the cake because we found an "apprentice" (for lack of a better term) baker who was willing to do it at cost for the practice. It was really good, which was why it was such a damn shame when the table collapsed after only a half dozen people were served.

That would be funny if we just got like a dozen Safeway lard-cakes.

you´ve been going out with her last summer? well, not my problem, but that would be slightly too short for me. but then 50 years would be too short for me as well.

I won't. That's what his in-laws are for.
