Hi there folks,

Its my lovely lady's birthday at the weekend & im broke...considering its just after xmas, would a box of chocs, some flowers & a couple of romantic homemade CD's seem acceptable. Or im I just trying to justify my cheapness?

(For all you no UK people, Blue Peter had the famous 'Heres one I made earlier' catchphrase...)

expensive or creative.

the one´s you´ve mentioned above are neither expensive nor creative.
yes, you are justifying your cheapness.

not that i could help you. when it comes to presents esspecally for girlfriends i´m just like the average male, cheap and uncreative.

Well bear in mind that if I go too over board & splash out too much Ill die of starvation by the end of the month...

Remember its the thought that counts...though some would have you believe its the price tag...

exactly! it´s the thought (or the money) that counts. the thought would be creativity. choclate, cd´s and flowers are the most uncreative things i can think of. they´re the standard i-dont-know-what-to-give-away presents. chicks surely like flowers, but they´re more like an add on.
she needs to see that you´ve put work into it ( = care for her )

money: you´ve worked for it
creative present: you have to work to produce it, uless it´s a hellish good idea which for some reason doesnt require work but still does the job.

True, the flowers where an after thought, but the CDs WILL be creative & have some meaning behind them...

Also I do have a plan b,c, & d as well...& theres a nice dinner planned, etc...

So I wont appear to be the cheap, unimaginative, yoyo, that I really am...hurragh!
