Rest In Peace, Fuzzy (1994-2007)

Our beloved dog Fuzzy died today at noon. He went into cardiac arrest at the local animal hospital after a bout with a bacterial infection. At least the cancer never got him, and he was not in pain when he died.

Very few of you ever saw him up close, but he was a good dog. A friendly, loyal companion to the end. Goodbye, Fuzzy. We'll never forget you.

13 is a respectable age for a dog.

Still sucks, though. :(

I have to add my small condolences, too. That really, really sucks.

As you said, at least he died peacefully and not in any kind of pain, whether sharp or, the worst (one of our dogs went this way, and she was in agony - it was much kinder to get her put down), lingering.

Loosing a dog is a horrible event. My sympathies to the family. Take solace in that 13 is pretty good for a dog, and you had a long time with him.

I hope your kids take it well, and you for that matter.

Like some of the others, I too know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet, a true member of the family. My condolences.

My condolences. Though I only met him briefly a couple times he's left a lasting impression of truly being man's best friend. He will be missed. :(

Sorry to hear that, Mike. At least at 13 he lived a full and I'm sure very happy life for a dog.

I'm so sorry. It lived a long dog life, and at least it wasn't painful. We have a dog, and I can't imagine losing her.

I remember the sadness my mother had when she spoke of her last dog who died miserably while waiting for her to come back. My condolences.

Whenever a pet has passed away, I'm reminded of a quote:

"He's your friend, partner, and defender, your dog. You're his life, love, & leader. He will be yours, faithful & true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

My condolences, for what they're worth. I'm sure he died happy.

Mike you have my deepest and most sincere sympathy. I know how much losing one's dog hurts and I can only say that my heart goes out to you and your family at this time. At least you can take some comfort in that he went out painlessly and with his loving family.
