The tracking of that small of a surface target should be possible thanks to the high noise output
They also have those unstabilized 25mm BushmastersSea Skimmer wrote:Well the USN recently did test out an anti surface mode for RAM and Phalanx mounts. Most effective it would seem.
Tell that to LPD-17, twin stabilized turreted 30mm cannon, each with a thermal imager, low light TV camera and laser rangefinder for the owning of boghammers. Options for local control or remote from the CIC.phongn wrote:They also have those unstabilized 25mm BushmastersSea Skimmer wrote:Well the USN recently did test out an anti surface mode for RAM and Phalanx mounts. Puny thing, the Russian 65-73 torpedo is a real torpedo. 650mm diameter, overall weight 8,800 pounds, range 50,000 meters at 50 knots. Warhead, nuclear. Though there's also a wake homer variant with a 992-pound warhead conventional known as 65-76.Enlightenment wrote:Spearfish torpedo. Top speed estimated to be in the range of 65-70 kts (~120km/h), masses 2 tonnes and has a 300KG warhead. The SAR types would be damned lucky to find any remains of the PWC larger than the size of the PWC operator's brain.
