Why is it that everyone in America is, according to New Yorkers, supposed
to sound like they're from that misbegotten pisshole, or else they're idiots?

Didn't someone point out that the West Virginian mountainers are the closest to Colonial English? New Yorkers just can't figure out how to separate words. "Forget about it" is supposed to be three words, not one . 'Course, I'm in the South, where people add syllables to words.
