On the Noir promotion disk and NGE dvds, I believe there was a preview for some anime whose name I cannot recall. It involved mechas, and thats all I can remember... Sorry if thats a bit vague. Would any of you happen to know what it is? If its any help, I can recall a bit of the theme song...

Dust to dust...
Ashes to ashes...
Soul to soul...
(Something about letting everything be)

Your help is appreciated...

That anime would be Gasaraki. Good mecha as long as you don't considered it realistic.

Yeah, not like Gundam or NGE with those potential designs that BAE and Lockheed will be making soon... oh wait. :P

Do you say that because mechs themselves are an unrealistic concept, or because they are portrayed in the anime unrealistically and in a technomasturbatory manner.?

From the preview I saw, they seemed to be more realistic than gundams at least.

The TAs are a realistic concept to a point but teknobabble and near complete diregard to any actual military tactics or use of vehicles really hurts it credibility. Minor note to date, I have not seen any anime with such poorly drawn M1A1 Abrams tanks and M2 Bradley APC/IFVs as seen in Gasaraki.

TAs are technomasturbatory material, almost half as much as the Armor Slaves in Full Metal Panic.

Aside from the tech issues, it is a good anime worth as least a rental or borrowing from a friend.
