Ah...Sid Meier's Gettysburg...how satisfying it is.

Time to wake up and smell the artillery, rebel scum!

That game is screwy. Stupidly fun on the easiest level, nothing like one of your regiments routing five or six of the enemies despite inferior strength and experience to any one of them.

I've never encountered another RTS game for Gettysburg's. The game in question can be fun, but only as a game. Its got some bugs that can really screw everything up like cannons refusing to deploy and troops not responding when there's no reason they shouldn't. I would place zero faith in its accuracy in representing anything but names of units involved in the battle.

Civil War General II is about as good as Gettysburg. The problem is often battles end up no where near historically as usual, but that has it's well defined causes.

Like when the Confederates win the Battle of Gettysburg by a considerable margin? Been there, done that, but with Civil War Generals.

Might be a NF_UTVol magnet, too....

I played the game, as the Confderacy, a while back, and blasted the Federals outta the water in a matter of minutes...

Time to wake up and smell the mushroom cloud of a bomber delivered nuke from
Tennesee in HoI, damnyankee scum!

(yes, my mod for Hearts of Iron includes a CSA scenario)

Lol, I can just see the South rise up against the North mid way through WWII, as if they didn't have enough problems. :P

No problem! The valiant northern Guardsmen are more than enough to crush whatever redneck rabble is thrown at them.

Actually, in HoI, my scenario presupposes that the south won their
independence in the 1860s

Yet we won in the end, with southern music dominating America, and
dozens of millions of damnyankees paying a Georgia based company billions
of dollars for coke...

And New York based Pepsi took the former Soviet Union by storm. The PLA was still stuck in the 50's when coke began its struggle there.

And the Middle East too, because Coke built bottling plants in Israel, so
the damn Arabs only brought pepsi....
