This is a short clip of Mark Setrakian showing off what Mechadon can do. My sister agrees it's cool and she doesn't even like fighting robots.
Video is in quicktime format, in case you couldn't tell from the address.

Thats just so sweet on SO many levels! synchronisation, fluidity, construction.. durable, elegant, and not kludgy O_O
ok, seriously, that thing is BEAUTIFUL. its fucking robust as hell and the computer controlling it makes me proud.

Computer controlling it? Hate to break it to you, but every time I've seen that thing in action, it's been humans controlling it via remote controls. They're skilled designers and operators though, I'll give them that.
It should also be noted that Mechadon, while a real crowd-pleaser because it looks so cool, usually gets knocked out of the battlebots competition in the first round by the faster, more agile, and more powerful bots with more practical designs. You know, the ones with wheels...or treads...

its still a nice robust machine.

Still, I'd rather have a nice treaded missle-launching robot.

That qualifies as neat and weird.

I never understood fighting robots. Me, I'd weight my robot down with
200 pounds of armor plate, give it steel treads, and mount a .50BMG
in a turret...

Explosives are too dangerous, so they've been banned. Honestly, think about the insurance fees...

Come on guys, play within the rules. You want a destructive robot? Check this bad boy out:

Razer rules. That claw is driven by a hydraulic cylinder which can apply 9 tons of force (yes, I'm using Imperial units because that's what everyone does for presses; sue me).

I think you'd be slightly over the 240lb weight limit.

The smoke grenades should mask the few tens of tons margin of error in my calculations

All depends on whose pound you use.
*Bribes Liberia, one of only three great nations to retain our great Imperial system, into redefining the pound be equal to 1000 kilograms*

Just have them watch from video cameras, sheesh....if I started a robot
league allowing 12.7mm MGs and 20mm main guns, I'd have so many
people lining up to pay to see it.....to see internal ammo detonations,
and rounds riocheting off enemy robots....

Here's another video. It's team da Vinci testing out Moebius. Those guys must be suicidal standing in the same parking lot as that thing.
