There's been a few glimmers of pure idiocy among France-bashers of late and while I don't care if anyone has fun at the nation's expense, I do care if we get more like Pounder's sister or pezcollectorguy. That's all.

And we had a republican democracy for more than ten years afterwards. The military coup responsible for the fascism was provoked by the disarray in finances and politics provoked, in great part, by our envolvement in WW1 (sidding with the allies, obviously). There's no reason to believe a monarchy would have prevented it.

After all, Italy still had a king when it turned fascist, and Germany a democratic president.

Just to make clear that anybody who willingly puts "fascist" in their sigs is, in my opinion, a complete schmuck. Unless you can make a case about how fascism is, in reality, good, and convince me of it.
