A Lovelorn Soul...

Yeah, that's me. There's a girl that I feel that I love, but she doesn't know. We're friends. I don't think she really knows how I feel about her. And Valentine's Day is coming up. I bought her a card, but with one problem: I won't be at school to give it to her Friday! I asked a friend to, but if that happens, I won't know how she feels about it until Tuesday, as well as the flowers I bought from a school club, supposedly going to be delievered to her.

My only hope is she is after school Wednesday. Then I can give it to her then, and see how she feels. If not, I will be left in the dark until next Tuesday. And, well, waiting is the hardest part...

So, wish me luck please! I'm practicaly staking everything on this: our friendship, and the fact she said she'd go with me to prom (though it seems she meant as a friend, and nothing serious, since she wants to bring someone else too. And I, being a nice guy, said it was ok...too late to change now. :( )

Good luck, RogueIce!

Hope it all goes well.

Having been in a similar situation, I can tell you this will probably end in heartbreak.

For the same reason, I wish you the best of luck.

Edited for greater accuracy.

In my case, pouring my heart out to the object of my desire made her nervous, and she told me we needed some space. However, she was just being jittery. We've been married now for more than ten years, so her initial reaction obviously wasn't final.

I guess what I'm saying is: good luck, and don't necessarily despair if she's a little jittery after your overtures.

Its far better to be honest and tell her how you feel. If it doesn't work out, at least you know where you stand. Keeping that kind of stuff bottled up makes you go insane.

I keep everything bottled up, and I'm quite fine. Though that's another story...

Hm, on second thought, maybe I am insane. I did come here, after all...

I wish you luck. I never get to do this sort of thing nowadays.

Man. That's a bummer, but hopefully it'll work out for you.

Sounds like she wants you as a friend only .... too bad -- my guess is that she is clueless about how you feel. I know it's easy for me to say, but just tell her how you feel. If she balks, it wasn't meant to be. Your not insane -- just infatuated...

Just an update, if any of you care...

She didn't seem to be freaked out or anything, and she knows about the flowers (hopefully they arrive as planned). We do seem to be just a tad closer, I think, though nothing official as yet.

Looking Good! :D

So she's still your prom date then?

So far as I know, yes. She hasn't said otherwise, and she'd had plenty of chances to. I just want her to see me in my Service Dress Blues, so I hope she shows up after school tomorrow.

I knew the US was recruiting but I doubted they were enlisting School kids just yet... either that or your school had a strict uniform code. :D

hehe Well, in four years, if all goes as planned, I will be an officer in the (you guessed it) US Navy. And dang proud of it, too! :D

An Officer? *shakes head* Don't worry, we won't hold it against you... no really.

Funny, the recruiters had the same reaction when I said I wasn't going to enlist, but go for a commission... Go figure, right?

No officer at the Recruiting station, right? :D

Anyway, have fun at the prom with your new GF.

Thanks. I plan on it (and not in the sick, depraved way some of you might think of as "fun" with a girl...)! :D

Good for you. I didn't have the courage to tell one of my friends how I felt about her, and I regret it every day. I hope it goes well.
