Mike and his fiance are getting married Friday in a non-religious ceremony, they are now both very, very sick of her SDA parents. lol
Now to get her to realize that Starwars is better then Startrek is still going to take some time....

Excellent. So instead of getting sucked into Seventh Day Adventist hell, he rescued her from it?

Exactly, It was discovering just how bigiotted her parents were that broke the back (And brought the marriage about 14 months ahead of her parent's "Schedual" Particularly the fact that her parents don't approve of me (Agnostic/buddist/Jewish), Joey (Gay), and Mike (half indian (Charokee)) kinda hurt her a lot. That and their takeing away her trust fund...

They're Mikey and The Bear
Yes, Mikey and The Bear
One is a Chef
The other's not all there.
They're Yosemite employed
Their brains have been destroyed
They're Wacky
They're Mikey and The Bear, Bear, Bear, Bear
Bear, Bear, Bear, Bear
Bear.
Before each night is done
Their foolery will be unfurled
By the dawning of the sun
They'll take over the world.
They're Mikey and The Bear
Yes, Mikey and The Bear
Their twilight campaign
Is easy to explain.
To prove their Debators worth
They'll overthrow the Earth
They're Wacky
They're Mikey and The Bear, Bear, Bear, Bear
Bear, Bear, Bear, Bear

Typical. Rebecca's parents stopped paying her tuition or room and board when she insisted on dating me. I ended up paying her way through school, as well as her rent, food, etc. because she was basically destitute.

It heartens me to hear another story of someone resisting the fundies. We don't get many of these these days.

100% inspired by the funny writings of Mr Colin Brian Witz, make a were-bear happy and show him some love - you may even get tasty, pastry treats.

The power fo women can be summed up in this simple phrase:
"The weaker sex is really the stronger sex, because of the weakness the stronger sex has for the weaker sex."

Oh, that reminds me of something I've been wanting to ask you for a long time. How did you get that much money to support
two people at once in college? Did you have a job?

I worked my way through school, thanks to UW's co-op education program where you take every other semester off to get work (but there's no summer vacation; you're either in school or at work year-round).
It's a good experience. Builds character.

I did all my work ahead of time in the Navy. Then it was GI Bill/Savings/Grants/Scholarships. My parents still let me live with them so I didn't pay for room & board. I pretty much went year round except for that "imaginary semester" over the Christmas/New Years Holiday that was created so athletes could retake clases to regain their eligibility.
Back on topic. It's nice to hear that The Bear's buddy isn't getting sucked in to the SDA world. It is too bad that there's a rift forming up with his fiance and her parents. Hopefully at some point they will make some concessions in their attitudes so she can still have some sort of decent relationship with her parents somewhere down the line.
