Nice. Looks much more functional than a stormtrooper rifle. When I become a bounty hunter, I'll need one of these.

I don't know, I think the price would be rather high. I would think though that a bounty hunter would be more close range combat. A combat shotgun is a very nice weapon plus a nice .45 would fit the bill.

Methinks a weapons designer has been watching too much SW.

I can already think of some Paratroopers who would be jumping up and down to get their hands on this gun if nothing based on it size alone

But as a Personal Defense Weapon, it wouldn't be too much use for a paratrooper. An ordinary assault rifle with folding stock suffices for such work (AKS-74 for example).

Point, However then where else would it be useful?

How about Giving Tankers somthing to fight with then? The Size and Compactablityl would make this weapon useful in a hoast of situations where M-16s or Even Folding Stocks are alittle to big

Besides Tankers I can see this an an excellent self defense weapon to replace regular Pistols for say the Supply Drivers or whatnot, almost but not quite front-line fokes

As I understand it, what you suggest is pretty much exactly right; it's for vehicle drivers of all sorts and such- this I'm going from the previous Personal Defense Weapons (such as the P 90).

Did anyone notice that thats exactly the same weapon that Havoc has in Command & Conquer Renegade, look at the movies between missions when he uses his pistol it looks exactly like the PDW but without the forward stick.

Why the 4.6 calibre? As a PDW, shouldn't it have a more heavy bullet?

The light bullet means that there is less recoil, thereby making it easier to shoot, which is good for a support trooper who doesn't shoot very much.

The size (of the calibre) doesn't matter. For example, the famous Belgian submachine gun P90 uses a special round chambered in 5.7mm, which has better penetration power than a typical normal 9mm round. A smaller bullet also means an increased clip capacity. I guess MP7 has the same advantages.

That's not a semi... it's full auto.

Well actually it is both, of course, having select fire as do pretty much all modern firearms with full-auto capability.

See the dial on the side of the gun? The "white bullet in a box" option = safety on. The single red bullet = semi-auto mode, and the four red bullets in a line = full-auto mode.

That's a midly stuipd thing to say, since basically every gun in the original Trilogy is something real with a few plastic parts glued on. The Stormtroopers E-11's are Sterling submachine guns, a weapon that dates to 1953. Their larger weapons in ANH are WW2 and earlier German machine guns.

Penetration is not dependent on bullet weight, but rather its ballistics and that of what fires. It a Beretta model 92 9mm will penetration most bulletproof vests inside 100 meters, while an .45 cal M1911 will not.

Smaller lighter bullets travel much faster and place their energy onto a smaller area. The two handguns I mentioned above have near identical muzzle energy.

Forward grip can be removed IIRC. Chances are it was modeled off the MP7, which was around when Renegade was made.

The MP-7 can be carried in a holster, and will effortless pass through body armor at 100 meters. No handgun can do that, only bullet proof vests. A full sized rifle or carbine will as well, but you can't take one inside of a tank turret with you, and the weight is much greater. Its basically meant to give people who can only carry a handgun the ability to kill people in body armor.

Nice weapon-- I think Mr. Bean summed it up-- a great idea for vehicle crews. Too small to be useful for extended campaign use as a regular issue weapon or for serious para use, though.

Field Police and Vehicle Crews would get good use from this weapon, IMO. Officers could carry this and have something more serious than a pistol, and machinegunners could use it as a backup to the heavy weapon. Also, tunnel rats and some urban situations may make this practical for limited applications.
