They killed it cause it got lung cancer, not from any clone-related issue.

She was rapidly aging, getting diseases reserved for sheep more than twice her age.

The cancer came from runaway cell replication - a possible side-effect of her being cloned IIRC.

My mistake, it was a lung infection, and it's the arthritis that was possibly caused by runaway cell replication and aging. :oops:

But to add to this, Matilda the Australian Cloned sheep died from unknown causes only a week ago. Unlucky month for clones :twisted:

There are rumors that cloned animals live shorter due to shortened telomeres, which is extra DNA at the end of a strand. Some gets lost with each replication. When it runs out, the information at the end of the strand gets lost, leading to errors, causing stuff like cancer.
