It's really amazing what a full one-hundred pounds and several miles per hour can add to impact force in the way of necessitating protective padding. Or hadn't you heard that 250 pounds is quite below average for an American football player?kojikun wrote:American Football: A bunch of men running around slamming into each other in armor.

Not to mention the amount of fucking "standing around" time you get in American Football. I've played games of that where I've been on O and D and special teams (in other words never off the fucking field) and have still felt way better than you generally do after just 20minutes of rugby (less than one half).kojikun wrote:American Football: A bunch of men running around slamming into each other in armor.

Actually its the armour itself that neccessitates the wearing of armour. I for one don't want to have to tackle a 220lb running back wearing armour if I'm not. Why? Because it fucking hurts.Pablo Sanchez wrote:It's really amazing what a full one-hundred pounds and several miles per hour can add to impact force in the way of necessitating protective padding. I'm quite happy to tackle a 300lb second rower on a hell run who isn't wearing armour when I'm not. Tackling him while wearing armour would be a fucking hassle.

I played Rugby in high school untill i learned that the games periods where an easy way to sloap off home early. I played American Football once and it bored the shit outta me with all the waiting between plays. The helmet was an added weapon but at that time i could pretty much kill people twice the size of me so it didn't matter.
