Is there any way under the UN Charater of Revoting a Country's Position on the Security Conucile?

Irrelevant maybe for a common american, but in world politics in the UN?

That move would probably increase their hostility towards the US, making it much harder for the US to get the UN to go to war, and for the US to get other countries to pay for its military costs, like they did with Afganistan.

world politics in the u.n, they are irrelevant. the above action shows it to be so.

The only thing French Diplomats have not done is open support of Sadddam and volitering to be Human shields but they have done everything else up to that point

Fokes are getting annyoed with France not just the America's, The Brits don't like them as well, China sure as hell does not like them, making them fast becoming the second most unpopluar country in the world

Nato needs to dump France. They pulled out their military long ago. This is a signal that when the Iraq crisis is over there will be changes in Nato and hopefully the UN security counsel.

NATO is defunct now.

It was formed to be an equivalent of the Warsaw Pact, which is gone.

It has no real use anymore, what with the UN using military's of its member nations.

The ERRF will also make NATO defunct, as many Europen nations dont have the resources to deploy for both the ERRF and NATO.

Ted, does this mean the ERRF will have to try and match the US in defense spending. I think that is the plan, to be a counter balance in place of Russia.

So, how did you guys like the papers today, what with the millions of people world-wide demonstrating against a war in Iraq? The protest in Berlin was the largest one of it's kind since just before the fall of the Berlin Wall.

I dont think Russia is a part of the ERRF, but to say it is a counter in place of Russia might be going a bit on the Paranoia, I think it's more of an EU solidarity, with Britain contributing a large part towards the ERRF, to say in favour with the other EU nations.

My only problem with the peaceniks is the "More Time More Inspectors bullshit" If you want to keep saying that mantra, then pick a date. If its Mach 14th security counsel meeting then thats it. Its put up or disband for the UN.

Take a hint, examin the protests and see if you see hordes of new Faces going to Protests or simply the same solid core who protest everything, year after year.

All well and good to exercise your right to dissent, But saddly "having a reason to" was not inculded in letting you exercise that right

And Ted the diffrence is, The US is not hated by European LEADERS Key-word, Leaders, The Leaders are the one's making the decisions not the people, though the people elect them, Shroder(German PM) is the clearest example of this, His popluarity rating is at an all-time low since he started opposing the War with Iraq, He went from some fifty percent to now under twenty percent, one of the lowest aproval ratings of all time for any German Leader

But back to the point, UN Leaders like the UN(Save a few) and thanks to France's constant badging they are starting to dislike them severaly

Since the last time such a huge demonstration happened in Germany was years ago, those are more than just your usual "professional protestors".

Schröder's popularity isn't falling because of his stance on the war. That stance is the only thing people like Schröder for, since the majority of Germans is totally against the war.

His popularity is falling like a stone because he fails at his economic and social policies.

France made itself irrelevant, a long time ago. The UN is just now beginning to realize this. We should take nominations for a replacement on the Security Council.

And as for Protesters, here's this-- not especially thelast of the photos, which is about in the center of the document... is history repeating itself?

Have fun...

höhö, the brits have to admit that it´ll be hard to go to war without the people backing it up. and they dont seem to back it up.
