Bisexual=cool?

I've met some people that like to tell others their sexual orientation at every chance, most of them say they are bisexual. I have a feeling they are doing this in the persuit of coolness ( nearly all are in high school.) Most of them have never had a relationship with anyone of the same sex, and most couldn't name anyone in particular, when I asked, that they were attracted to. This happen to anyone else?

EDIT: spelling

I know a few people who claim to be bisexual, although I only can prove that 2 of them are. (two girls who have been in love with people of both genders - actually, each other at a point)

As a side note - it has turned out out that homosexuality is genetic - but what about bisexuality??

Let's see. I went to a school of music. I knew and was friends with several homosexual men and women. However, some I just guessed at their sexuality, others I had to be told (which at that point in time came as a shock). Now, I know all of the above, yet nobody has really bragged about being bisexual. Guess it must be the younger crowd. Bisexuality must seem to be really "cool".

i dont know any bisexual people.
i know two gay people who basicly permanently tell you their sexual orientation. not directly but by the way they act. the typical clichee gay movements. without being insulting, these two are real fags.

I havemet many people who are bisexual. Here in MA, its sorta the "You are? Whatever." kinda reaction to it, so no one really cares (except for the republicans, such as our inbecile govener, Mitt Romney)

It was trendy to be bi my freshman and sophomore years in high school. Nothing new under the sun, I guess. This is 19-20 years ago.

Hmm, they probably just saying it to be cool. Saying but not doing is the hallmark of teenage acceptance. I would see it no different than those that say they are Wiccan and dress the drag. Its just something to brag about to make noise and say "hey look at me".

Its making a comeback though. Sort of like bell-bottoms, clam diggers, afros (SP), and all the rest of that stuff. It seems to be a term that is flung around in high-school that is a symbol of diversity and independence... whereas it only groups the person in yet another cookie-cutter group. I'm not saying that some if not a large amount of these people arn't actaully bi-sexual in taste, but there are still a good number that I've known that say they're bi yet have no reasons to offer me why they think they are.

I know several people who are Bisexual but only sexually, they don't go out with people of their same sex, they either partake in threesomes or homosexual intercourse. I only know Bisexual females never met any male bisexuals but I believe there are a few.

Many a time.. but also many times has someone else been "straight" and been attracted to, or overly noticed, someone of the same sex. [shrugs] All in all, I believe it is someone's choice whether they tell their orientation, but it should be more private sometimes.

You poor bastard, I hope you don't have his attitude to. Everytime my sister turns on their show I want to strangle that guy.

Me and my sis actually get on usually, just not when the cow hacks my SD.Net account and make genocide comments about the French.

Half the time i think Kelly Osbourne deserves to be skinned alive. But both their attitudes are out of wack. They are typical spoilt holywood kids. One of my e/x fiance's had a mother who cleaned for them when they lived in England and apparently they where much nicer then.

If the person saying they were bisesexual was a girl, it was thought to be cool, if it was a guy..., that's another story.

I went to a redneck sk00l (ouch!) and came out of the closet in middle sk00l (Dubble OUCH!), quickly finding out that that's the quickest way to find yourself on the bottom of the food chain (Triple OUCH!!) and get people to make with the death threats (QUAD-DAMAGE OUCH OUCH OUCH!!!)! Then I came out as bi here on SDnet... Immediately got shot at by Kojikun. yay. hey at least the bullets weren't real except here on the Matrix... :)

Moral of the story is: When it comes to OTHER PEOPLE'S SEXUALITY, asshole hypocrites are quick to judge. Moral #2. Fuck 'em, but don't forget to throw it in their face every now and then...

The biggest reaction you could possibly get out of any youth in Massachusetts is, "That is wicked stoopid, dawg!"
