It wouldn't be that surprising if it was the manufacturing equipment. France sold Iraq several billion dollars worth of military and industrial equipment in the 1970's and 80's, including there long since flattened nuclear power plant. Germany was behind most of the chemical stuff though. There nuclear equipment was mostly from Western Europe with some from North American and Asia sources. Bio samples came from all over, the equipment from Germany though there was a lot they could do with there own stuff. Rockets from the USSR, North Korea and Libya, and of course there's the UK built supergun of doom.

Well, it's just a hypothetical situation. They MIGHT have been right, again, but we don't have any evidence of it right now.

I should point out that a lot of this stuff came from private companies. For some perspective, the US government has gone after a lot of defense and civilian contractors selling sensitive tech to China- this doesn't mean that the US wanted it to happen. And of course, the US helped Iraq's WMD program plenty.

Brains would lock up after making the realization that the WEAPONS came from FRANCE.

Then we should make Spain into an island, if you know what I mean.

But seriously, the weapons probably would be harmless anyway, they would stop working whenever enemy forces appear.

A motion to throw France off the Security Counsel would be placed immediately. Then the boycotts would begin..

They would speak their butts out of the shit...

I can just imagine the political fallout...

The boycotts are being prepared at this moment. One of the republican reps want to attach an information label on french imported wines that use bovine blood as a clarifier. Obviously this is a tactic to lower the sales of french wines.

I wouldn't be surprised if France is removed from the security council and is completely booted out of NATO. They are already making great advances in being the most mocked country in the world.

For a time there I was under the impression that France never was a part of NATO...

Ming, I belive a non military but voting member of NATO

I'm sure everyone would say that France was acting cowardly and peaceful so people wouldn't think they were giving weapons to Iraq.

Most likely most of the older stuff, newer would be N. Korea, I doubt we have intercepted all of the equipment going into Iraq.
