So I'm sitting here looking about and BAM! This Paypal ad is up in the corner now. Is this new? Has it always been there? I certaintly haven't noticed it until now. Miek running low on funds for this site er something?

Well giving that Wong is having to move to another server because of bandwidth, I suspect he wants some help. I doubt he's going to get sufficient bandwidth for the what, 10 dollars a month he had been paying?

Yup, I just added it. I'm not destitute, but if anybody wants to contribute toward the costs of running the site, I would certainly appreciate it, hence the addition of the Paypal button.

Same problem here as well with it switched

I flushed the template cache and that seemed to solve the problem.

What would an proper donation be ? Plus , might we use snail-mail, Im edgy about using debit/credit cards online.

I'm new at this myself. All I can say is that if you have a few shekels spare and you feel like donating, I would appreciate it.

Sadly no, since I would have to be a registered charity.

Much like some peoples' firearms in this country, my website is not yet registered with the government

--For those of us that are ignorant, how much does the site cost to opperate over and above what you would normally pay for internet access and personal hardware? Beyond that how much do you figure a it would cost a company to design and maintain this site (not including the hard costs addressed previously).
-Will there be a problem of currency exchange for those of us in the U.S.?

Off the top of my head, I think the website, including this board and the main site and the domain, costs about $100 USD per month to run, not including whatever value one puts on time.

It's a hobby which is probably less expensive than quite a few other hobbies in this world, and no one is being pressured in any way, but a few bucks here and there from the occasional denizen would be nice.

Hey I think it looks ok, and hey if I had extra I'd donate, but it might be awhile before I'll be in a position to do that.

$15 US dollars Mike. I would paid in Canadian Currency, but we both know it ain't worth shit. LoL. I had to say that. This is likely the only time I could squeeze that one in.

--Not that I think it will happen, but I would be careful of letting money affect how you would otherwise run the site (i.e., unintentional side effects). Perhaps a disclaimer/policy would be prudent (e.g., what happens if someone donates a large chunk of change and then, does stuff deserving of a village idiot title, etc. etc.).

Somehow I doubt that village idiots would contribute.
