Since it's related to Street Fighter I thought might as well put it in GC rather than testing. I know we're all over the age where we played Street Fighter, but anyway.... this is something else:

Good excuse to find and watch old Jackie Chan movies I suppose.

I had forgotten Jackie's old never made it to Western markets movies he did back in the earlier 90's. They were terrible, but in a funny way. This was movie was brought up in a joking way on Gamespot's Hot-spot podcast(Which I recommend without reservation) when they spent the first thirty minutes of the podcast not talking about Video games but about the Chun-Li movie which of course was terrible. To the point that they compared it to this version of Street Fighter and said "You know between this movie, Van-Dam's attempt during the 80's and Jackie Chan in City Hunter, I think I prefer City Hunter because it's the least terrible of the three movie versions and at least they play it for laughs.. The Legend of Chun-Li was not supposed to be a comedy movie but trust me when I say that several times during big emotional scenes I was laughing at how bad the lines were"

Ah, city hunter, where Chan plays a bounty hunter and he gets trapped in the Street fighter machine and comes out as Chun Li. Not what you would call a classic but entertaining in its own way. Brings back memories of high school.

Is that the one where they end up in an arcade and turn into Street Fighter characters whenever they slam into a games machine? Because that was AWESOME!

Is there an unwritten rule to the effect that a comic actor can expect to cross-dress at least once in his career?

lol. How is it not a classic? You have the femme fatale, who brought out the whole Lara Croft look years before Angelina Jolie did, you have the then cliche of the suave gambler with kooky martial arts skills, you have the Bruce Lee tribute.......

The film was awesome! Indeed, I'm still tempted to purchase the dvd edition of it. And face it, compared to Future Cops, this comedic turn was superior. Too bad Wong Jing seemed to had lost his touch later, in a futile attempt to revert to his gambling movies. Still, the Mahjong Queen series was "watchable".
