My fucking Hard Drive packed in yesterday. I turned it on when i got home from work and there was a corrupted windows file. I wiped C:\ and re-installed XP only to discover that it was my hard drive that was fucked. Luckily i have a second harddrive but it contained all my games, mp3's and porn. I had to wipe over the second drive and i lost it all MOTHER FUCKING HARDDRIVE.

It's mostly the losing the MP3's that annoys me. But losing my movies of Jenna sucking and fucking was a bit of a blow if you excuse that bad pun.

Sounds like a hard one to swallow.

Why did you wipe the second drive? You can install windows without wiping a drive clean first, especially in a situation where you want to recover files.

I was pissed off by then coz of the faulty Hard Drive that was only 1 year old breaking and i'm not too familure with that side of computers, i was trained to be a web programer. I ususally get a mate to do all the cleaning out for me.

Ah. Yah, that sucks then. What kind of drive was it? Most drives have a 3 year warranty and you can RMA them right on the web.

The problem is the place i bought it from has since went bankrupt. Aw fuck it, it was only a 6 gig drive.

6 gigs??

Yeah i only wanted a wee small drive on C for the OS and application software and a second larger drive (20 gig) for my good stuff like my games, Porn, and MP3's. I'm dure and upgrade next week anyway but i lost a lot of un-replaceable things like my Anti-Metalica cartoons etc.

Backups are your friend.

I was actually refering the the manufactorer of the hard drive not the retail outlet that you bought it from.

ie) Maxtor hard drives can be RMA'd on their website or via a phone call. The only expection might be if it was an OEM drive. Then you have to talk to the computer maker.

Most of the HD manufacturers have gone to a 1 year warranty. Quantity, not quality

Ah, well, we know the risks we take when we play Chicken with our hard-drives... I lost to mine last week

I'm still trying to recover the files from my old laptop/new paper weight.

DriveSavers can recover data from dead HDs. Assuming you still have it, it'll cost.

Yeah. I'm still waiting to get a call back from the place.

Better than having your comp keel over on you. I've had 2 of'em go tits up this week, first the laptop, then parts in another one.

Btw, this is why I always have about 2-3 spare drives and spares for every part in each of my comps...

Agghh! No more porn for you! Actually that's kinda funny...I still have mine so nanananana. Anywho sorry to hear that.

It's all back to to nearly as was. I spent a whole 24 hours downloading porn and i forgot i had burned off a mate my whole MP3 collection. He got them to me late last night. but i lost some games i hadn't backed up to CD.

My solution now is to Back Up the important things on my computers into my sisters Harddrive on her computer upstairs. But it was a lost weekend. I shoulda been out getting drunk and going on the touch but instead i was working on this POS computer.

Well if you have money you can use RAID.
I burn all my important stuff to CDs.
