This is basically to counter the embarassing kids' names thread.

So, in all seriousness, what do you want to name your kids? I'll go first, as I started the topic.

First of all, I would prefer to have two girls.

The first would be named Morrigan.

The second would be named Alexandria.

You're assuming that you'll have girls instead of boys, and that your wife will agree with your choices?

Spanky, what ever happened to 'Bicycle'? I thought you wanted to have a kid with that name just so you can see the reaction from people who ask what the kid's name is.

Oh, and Wong: I think Spanky was attempting to ask people to share what names they have or would like to use for hteir kids, not make some kind of Nostradamus prediction of their offspring.

[prediction]Spanky will end up with some flower-child new-age wacko, who will insist on having nine sons, all named after baseball players, and raised under the single mentality that they'll all grow up to play on the same professional team.[/prediction]

Boy:

Nick (informal/school), Niccolo (away, when I want him to know I want his attention)

Girl:

Tatayana (sorry incredable sucker from Russian Lit, and Zhivago is a fav.)

However Tanya is acceptable in schools, at least when I was growing up....

Chloe for a girl (or Zoe, but if I have 2, not both!)
Zach or Dainel for a boy.

In the extremly unlikely event that I have children

Son: Dalamar, or Waylan

Daughter: Laddona or Vivain

Something that won't get him or her beat up.

Aly, you can name your turtles that.

I hate children [although Spanky will point out I am one. Well I hate myself too].

Lucky for you that you live in the US. In Germany I bet you'd never ever be allowed to use those names

As for me: Dachlan, Daffyd for boys, Catherine for a girl...

Two boys. Nathaniel and Superfly.

If the wife doesn't approve, I'd like the name the girl Ellen, and call her Elly for short. I'd like to name the boy James.

I'd name my kids Prince Smi I, Sleeping Bag, and Prince Smi II, and be like Micheal Jackson.

Seriously, I'd name by sons Charles Stewart, Albert Frank, Robert William, or Chrsitopher Scott. I'd leave the girls' names to whichever woman I banged.

As for me, it would obviously depend on the father's input and what his last name happened to be...and I'm almost definitely not having kids for multitudes of reasons, but.... I'm rather partial to Cassandra (Cassie), Eve, and Kylie for girls and Alexander, Noah, and Nicholas for boys.

And there's this girl I knew once who had such a pretty name, but I don't know if I could pull it off, naming a child this without the right heritage. Her name was Xiomara (pronounced /zee-uh-MORE-uh/). Very pretty, methinks.

But I don't need to worry about it, since I'm not having kids.

Note the title "what do you want to name your kids" not "what will you end up naming your kids

Because Kelly knows that unlike men who mearly have to place an object of 1-3.5" Diamter object into a self adjusting object, Women have to move a 8" Diamter object out a 5" Hole

Well, my name is derived from Mars so I figure I should name my kids some derivetive of Phoebos and Damos. I don't think that will go over well with the wife though.

Female: Laura, as I've known several Laura's and all of them have been really nice people and wonderful friends.

Male: Unsure...

That's a damn cool name. In fact, I might get my name legally changed so I could have it, and the little bugger would be stuck with a "Jr." on his name.

If I have a girl, I was thinking something like Giovanna, my aunt's name.
