Free the Iraqis!

I'm listening to Bush speaking right now, and I'm hearing him say we should help the Iraqi people by removing the dictator that has keep them starved, fearful, and wartorn. He is announcing that he wants to protect their borders, and make sure that their resources (read: Oil) are protected and saved for the use of the rightful owners, the Iraqi People themselves.
Save the Iraqi. Free the Iraqi.
Why am I seeing a parallel here to the US Civil War, when the North was trying to regain the confidience of the people and changed the war rally cry from "Save the Union" to "Free the Slaves"??

I guess they're feeling the pressure from the world's lack of support. Still, global support or not, the military will be going in. No one wastes billions of dollars moving over a hundred thousand troops to the other side of the world for no reason at all.

The Rapture Ready fundies view Israel as a perfect state that can do no wrong and is only working to render itself pure of the Muslim and Arab scourge.
