Why doesn't Java work for me?

I don't know...I just reinstalled Java 2...I enabled everything in the security tab...but Java applets, be they chat or games, do not run.

Why?

Try downloading http://java.sun.com/getjava/manual.html, then installing it.

If it still doesn't work, then I don't know what to say... You didn't happen to delete a program with a teddy bear icon did you? Because that e-mail is a hoax.

Huh. I think I'm wrong.

I remember when I installed Java that I had to add some permissions or some whack crap to my User Name on windows XP. Did you do that?

Let's try finding out what your problem is first. What browser do you use? What are the security settings? Did you accidentally disable Java?
Security settings are everything enabled for java. Browser is IE6.

When my Java funtions stopped working (and almost everything else), it was because Sarah's OS was corrupted from at least two viruses.

Solution: Format and re-instillation.
